Most people will refuse to include Rush but they are 4th all time in consecutive platinum albums behind the Beatles, Stones and Aerosmith, 34 gold or platinum albums total. Rush can easily play every song by the Beatles, Stones or Aerosmith but none of those bands would even attempt to play even Rush's least difficult arrangements.

You'd have to that properlike, mate...

Lynyrd for a boy
Lynda for a girl

To me Foreigner belongs high on the list, not top 10, but perhaps top 20 ?, Easily in my top 30 !

For my 10

I go with ( surely omitting someone )

The Rolling Stones...best band EVER!
Lynyrd Skynyrd...their songs had meaning
The Kinks
The Talking Heads... Just a fun band, should be like #55
Doors
Pink Floyd for sure, should be #2 or #3, behind Stones
The Who
Various bands with Eric Clapton
Bob Seeger
CCR

I've only seen 4 of them live, the stones twice, Seeger once, the Who once ( my first concert ever (in 1982), Skynyrd about 12 times... always opened in later years.

List needs some work but it's rough

Left off Beatles, they're OK, but not a favorite, can't stand Queen !

What years did you see Stones?

Late in their career, like maybe 1998 & 2007. I buddy of mine worked security at the show, got me within 150' of the stage.

One thing I'll always remember from that concert...

I'm there with my wife, Craig sits me in A-1 seats, there is a hot , horny chick seated to my left, she wants me and totally comes on to me !

This is all with wife, seated to my right.

I explain to the girl, no way I can do this !

She says things like

Don't, you like me ?
Nearly a catfight resulted

It was abit disturbing, but also nice, mademe feel good !

Under different circumstances, I'd have scored that one in seconds, married or not ! Marriage is a temporary thing.

I had a Mexican friend that put it to me this way....

A man is like a rooster, he has to inspect the hens

Mexican women understand this concept.

Nobody seems to be following your directions.......

I love this quetion for no other reason than the arguing that insues.....

My opinion is this.... if you are a true rock n' roll fan, there is no way on earth to limit your FAVORITES to 10 bands....No matter how hard you try...

Unless you are one of those BOOB's that say THE DEAD or THE BEATLES... no one else matters.... STOP JUST STOP...... U EMBARR-ASS YOUR SELF.....

I agree with this, there is no way you can select just 10 of the greatest rock bands. As soon as the radio comes on and you hear a song that you really like back in your day,you are then like;damn i forgot about them,i have to add them somewhere, and it goes on and on

I'm not making a list either, but i'd just like to throw two out there which i don't think have been mentioned,i might have missed it so don't condemn me for it

Genesis(Phil Collins)

Nickelback,...some may say things about them, but it was one of the best concerts i ever seen
