Did we see it with Denver this week when they went to Ossweiler? Houston when they lost Watson after losing Watts and Mirciless? The Giants?

This happens then after a game or two they regroup an realize the money at stake and play much better for future salary considerations.

Very complex.

If a team is in this position with a veteran QB with a few years left in his contract and little prospect of an extension in 2-3 years when it’s expired, will he give a shit? Compared to a young QB with a long future.

Will GB falter knowing Rodgers is probably out or will they fight to stay close should Rodgers be able to return?

IMHO Osweiler and Savage are two horrible quarterbacks that were beautiful fade money yesterday. The Giants have thrown in the white towel and I think every roster member signed it first!

Hundley is going to compete and this team is too well coached and too competitive to a man to throw in the towel as McAdoo's bunch have.

Well stated I don’t disagree though tactically I don’t know 1) if Hundley can play well and 2) if the conservative scheme will be able to beat the Lions.

that was Adams...my newly underperforming draft pick. I don't think that ball was catchable...but he could have extended. seems like he wasn't expecting a decent throw...

Broncos are fade material (have been since the Giants loss). It's not just the bad 3 QB's, it's the O-line, coaching, run game and now the D is giving up. Complete shit fest from a fan's perspective.

I thought GB was going to falter but on other threads the crowd here kept telling me they are GB, and they are 100-2 after a bye, and it is cold (though Hundley is a QB from southern california, UCLA), so I kept it mild. I had the Lions, I liked them big but so many liked GB that I kept it "medium".

Besides the teams already cited (Denver, Houston, Giants), I would think TB will throw in the towel, though they already collapsed, playing Winston with an injured shoulder. Maybe Cincy, maybe Balty.

(can you imagine being a Denver player with high hopes, sore and banged up mid season, traveling on a short week to Philly and being told Osweiler is your new leader?)

Pats don't play well in Denver, but this year is different. This team has some serious problems and the D isn't going to be that fired up like other times against Brady.

I agree about the coach, doesn't show any confidence in his players and I think the team picks those signals up, and are less willing to play hard.

because professional athletes have pride and they're still very talented on the defensive side of the ball. They're home, everybody gets up for the Patriots, and teams usually step up their efforts in prime time as well. Teams are usually not as bad as they look on their bad days, nor are they as good as they look on their best days. If it were that easy, we'd all be filthy wealthy

I expect the Broncos to play hard, especially on D. I expect them to lose because of their anemic QB play, but I expect them to compete and not roll over. I have no opinion on the spread yet

Good luck, can't imagine how you can get yourself to crack the wallet for this team. 4 straight dismal performances for Denver, including giving up over 50 points last week and serving up the first win to the hapless giants. The Patriots are by far the superior team with superior coaching. I think the angle might sound good but there is a lot of evidence that Denver is toast and their defense is giving up.

I'm not playing Denver, and I'm especially not playing Denver when they play the Patriots, I'm just saying I don't expect them to rollover. I expect a spirited effort

Exactly. Jeff Fisher was terrible, all "D" and no "O". Invested in D but no OL or WRs, ran the ball up the middle.
And we have to look at coaching at the NFL level, as I stated, with the new coach I wonder "is Denver the Denver we have known?" Like the new Atlanta OC.
I agree with Willie that Denver might rise up emotionally, at home SNF against a huge brand, Brady and the Patriots. For the start of the game.
But NE is only 1 game up so motivated and off a bye. If the NE defense is jelled as we think it has, you will have another situation where one team has a QB who can throw the accurate 20-30 yard pass all night, and the other team has, well, Oswieller. Eventually NE will score a few times and wear down Denver. Will Denver fight to the end or will they succumb in the second half, I would wonder.
8 points is a lot to lay on the road in any situation so I am not committed to NE, yet.
But back to the subject, be wary of these teams that have lost their hope to get into the playoffs, they will not cover for a few games until the line adjusts and they regroup, especially teams like this that have been decimated and are out of it unexpectedly that are on the road.

Dead:
Houston (& on the road & new QB is inadequate & other critical injuries)
Giants (& on the road 3000 miles and coach on the way out and lots of injuries)

Dying:
GB (& on the road and new QB is inadequate)
Cincy
Denver (& new QB is inadequate)
Miami (& on the road)
