Thanksgiving night fights shut down Alabama mall

Fights shut down an Alabama mall early Thanksgiving night.


About a dozen officers were called to Riverchase Galleria in Birmingham, Ala., Thursday because of several fights reported in the mall, WBRC Fox6 News reports.


Officials found at least one fight after 11 p.m. on the mall’s second floor, AL.com reports. Video of a fight also circulated on social media.
Local Fox news producer Steffany Means said on Facebook a witness told her someone threw a shoe over a railing, hitting a baby.


One victim was treated for minor injuries, but no one was sent to the hospital, AL.com reports.


While rumors of gunfire spread on social media, officials said that wasn't confirmed. No one was shot.


The mall was set to close at midnight, but instead shut down about 11:20 p.m., AL.com reports.

I used to live less than a mile from here. Very nice and affluent area. Great mall.

All malls are thug magnets to some degree though I suppose.

Still a really nice neighborhood. Riverchase and Rocky Ridge areas.
There is that one ghetto apartment complex between Lorna and Veona Daniels though.
