My wife is helping to arrange two early Xmas parties for around 200 young (4 to 10 years old) orphans this coming weekend. The first is on Saturday November 22nd in Desamprado, for 100 orphans and the 2nd on Sunday Nov. 23rd. in Guapiles (near Limon) for another approximately 100 orphans.

She needs an additional $150 to buy cakes, candy snacks, and soda (Fanta Orange) for both parties. She with the help of several volunteer friends have 200 wrapped gifts, nothing expensive but what we call in the States as stocking stuffers.

Anyone willing to donate can meet her at The Time Out Tavern in Escazu on Friday night at 8PM. Or if you live on the San Pedro side of town or find it easier you can meet her in the Burger King Parking lot at the San Pedro Mall rotunda at any time between now and Friday evening at 7PM.

She only needs $150 in order to purchase everything she needs to complete both parties for the two separate orphanages.

The functions are under the supervision of La Associacion De Embajadores Para La Paz Universal. Cedulas Juridica 3-002-501955.

Her and her girlfriends have been wrapping gifts all day. Any size donation would be greatly appreciated.

You can reach me if you like at person19481950@yahoo.com or just PM me should you have any questions or want to set up an appointment to met with Mrs. Wilheim with a donation.

I will get some photos of both parties posted here in the Bookie Chit Chat Forum ASAP.

This is for a good cause as these orphans (like orphans all over Costa Rica) are very needy all year long.

Thanks, Wilheim

Vd.

Thanks for the help but I certainly don't want you to be the sole donor, hopefully some others will step up also or I will give her the rest of the money. I will try to get away on Friday,

Thank you so much for volunteering to help.

I'd love to help, but don't have many options in terms of sending the money. If anyone has a FullTilt Poker account, I could send them money and they could send it to you via an available transfer means. Sorry it's such a bizarre method, but it's the only thing i can think of.

US residents, I really do appreciate your generousity but we only need $150 to make it and I am sure the local guys and gals down here will come up with that. I know Viejo Dinosaur and Judge Wapner will help but I am pretty sure some others will help (I'm hoping to not have to depend on VD and Judge only).

The orphans are the young ones (4 to 10) and it really breaks your heart to see them with no families. Come Christmas I know Viejo Dinasaur is going to need help with his incredibily generous annual orphans gift giving drive, please save your donations for then..

Thanks to everyone, wil..

PS. Locals if you want to donate and live on the Sabana side of town you can leave an envelope before 8PM Friday night at the Time out Tavern. Please mark it Signora Wilheim's orphans. Anyone on the San Pedro area please PM or email me at person19481950@yahoo.com and my wife will meet you at the Burger King parkng lot next to the San Pedro Mall rotunda at your convienence.

Thanks, wil..

Wil....thanks to Ivan, who has picked up the slack, we have already raised more than we have last year...we can take out the 150 from our end to help...Ivan thought I wasn't coming back from Thailand this year, so when I was gone he started the ball rolling...who cares where the cash comes from, it still gets the job done...give my best to your wife and tell her she is doing wonderful work...

Thank you very much but that won't be necessary as we don't need much and the guys here in Costa Rica are coming through. I really do appreaciate your offer though and won't forget it.

Thanks, wil..

Update on the Orphan Xmas Parties.

Very strange weekend as the Saturday November 22nd party in Desamprado went great (I am waiting for photos). The orphans all were thrilled with their toys and "stocking" (really a Xmas paper sack my wife made with scotch tape, Christmas wrapping paper and filled with treats).

There was a clown who was hired and he did baloon tricks and comedy skits for the around 100 kids between 4 and 10. They also all got an individual wrapped present and had cake with orange soda. My wife said many had bearly wearble shoes and some only had thongs which is sad but for an afternoon there was a lot of happiness for these youngsters.

Regarding the party on Sunday in Guapiles (near Limon). That party had to be postponed until next Saturday because the rains flooded the tunnel between here and Limon plus it flooded the main hall of the orphanage. So I will have to report back next week about how that party went.

We have all the stuff, luckily my wife was warned in time before she bought any cakes (the kids actually get their own individual frosted cup cake) so they will be fresh next Saturday. All the other stuff is not perishable.

I really would like to say thank you to the people who helped out and even though we are not done helped make both parties possible.

Regardless where you help, everyone working in this industry with the means should do something for any of the many homes and facilities in the area for these innocent and beautiful children this holiday season..

I know Viejo Dinosaur is doing his annual Xmas party for his orphanage up in the Tres Rios area, Vieojo and his many assistants who donate their time and cash all do an excellent job for a great cause. My hat is off to all of you guys that work with Viejo to make a great Christmas for over 100 orphans.

Thanks to all from Mr. and Mrs. Wilheim...:103631605
