Rotoworld:

Teixeira
ESPN's Keith Law reports that the Angels have acquired Casey Kotchman and Stephen Marek from the Braves for Mark Teixeira.
Kotchman has reportedly been pulled off the field after going out to warm up for Tuesday's game. The Angels get a nice upgrade here, but they're giving up a 25-year-old with room to improve for just two months of an at least somewhat overrated first baseman. Marek was also one of their top prospects. A move to the pen this year has him looking like a potential closer.

I think the Angels definitely made out better, but they really needed an offensive boost and Tex is better right now. Still, it's not like they weren't winning games. They really need to win it all this year for the trade to be worthwhile.

Umm... is it a sign of the apocalypse that I actually agree with you on something?

After checking out Marek, he looks pretty good. Very possible replacement for KRod in a few years. Or was anyway...

WTF's The Matter W/The Twins Nobody Needs

A RH stick like they do. Trades all over the place and zilch from Mn., guess they think they can win it w/what they have. Nady would have looked good between M&M, and we sure as hell have more to offer than NYY.

The pitcher they gave up is not a good prospect but Kotchman is a nice young player, only 25 and is getting better.

Will never be a Texiera type hitter but 30 Homers +300 high OBP is not bad

They have a guy (his name escapes me) who is a converted shortstop that is likely going to replace Rodriguez next year. He's pretty filthy. Plus, closers are a dime a dozen and very overrated.

Win win trade. Braves wasnt going to pay this dude anyway. Might as well get something for him. And Kotchman is a rising player getting better.
