This guy has the mobility of Michael Vick with a more accurate throw.

Have you watched this guy play? I agree he is very athletic and amazing, but his throwing accuracy is beyond horrid. He throws an decent deep fade ball, but how hard of a throw is that? Watch him throw any kind of slant or out route. His WR always have to make a play on the ball. An accurate throw would lead to a WR being able to gain another 5-10 yards after catch, Vince Young's WR almost always have to fall down to make the catch or change their momentum.

He is not an accurate thrower and will never make it in the NFL at the QB position. With that said, he is a great athlete and will be an NFL player (WR or DB).

Give me a break. Throwing to wide open receivers in college is a lot different than the NFL where quarterbacks have to complete passes to recievers with a corner blanketing him.

59.2% passes completed last season.
62.7 % passes completed this season.

And he's only a junior playing in one of the better conferences!

Michael Vick, who played in a weaker defensive conference in college had this in his final season at VTech:

54% passes completed.

The not accurate argument doesn't fly at all. Young is more accurate and has actual NFL size. He doesn't have the same amazing moves but he has tons of speed and is a better passer.

PS, Carson Palmer won the Heisman his final season at USC and was also the #1 draft pick.

He completed 63% of his passes that senior season.

Young is completing 62.7% so far.

Accuracy doesn't appear to be much of an issue.

Just had an arument about that when we were playing cards.

I think they mold him to be a fine NFL QB, not another MAtt Jones or Kordell, The dude is too big for a QB. but it appears he can handle it.
Time will tell

Not to nitpick, but he's about as big as most NFL QBs.

He's only 6'5" 230.

Carson Palmer is 6'5" 230.

Bledsoe is 6'5" 240.

Peyton Manning is 6'5" 230.

Leftwich is 6'5" 245.

Eli is 6'4" 220.

Brady is 6'4" 225.

Kerry Collins is 6'5" 240.

Big Ben is 6'5" 240.

Culpepper is 6'4" 260.

Young looks like he is just right as far as NFL QB size goes.

Completion Percentage is not what im referring too. He has good enough recievers that will still make a play on his shitty throws and get the catch. The point I was making is, his throws are off target enough that his recievers have to make a play, either falling down, or leaving their feet, or changing their momentum in some way. Even on the little 5 yard slants, his reciever normally has to catch the ball, and thats it.

An accurate QB would put these throws on the money to let his wideouts get some extra yards after the catch. Vince Youngs WR do not have this priviledge most of the time. Yes, his completion percentage looks good, but thats because his WR make plays on his terrible throws, not because he is an accurate thrower.

Very hard to tell how good he is when most of the defenses he's played against are not very good. He has 6 seconds to throw the ball, of course he completes a high %. No idea how he will do when he has 3 seconds and fast defenders to deal with. He should come out now though if it is only a financial decision.
