Before I make my choice,I want to know the status of the point shaving Texas player's mother's house.Has it been foreclosed or did they make enough on the Oklahoma State game for him to try in this game?

They have won at Providence and Mizzou, so I would not hold that against them.

Texas has actually play 4 road games. at Duke, Providence, and Missouri. The other was in New York(neutral) where they played Arizona.

Also , their remaining schedule, they will have 7 road games, starting with TT, then Tex AM, Bay, Iowa St,OK, Ok St, and then Kansas St. They will have a total of 11 road games. That would be more than Duke who has 10. I think the avg is 10-11 road games.

Bobby Knight at home & Pick EM vs. the over-hyped former team of TJ Ford....No question here....The only challenge comes deciding how much....Free throws win games --- remember this...

The texas vs duke game was not at Duke...It was in the garden also. Duke was -4.5 and there is no way that was the line in Cameron.

Texas/Prov was @ MSG. Remember, that was the buzzer-beater game in OT? When the refs took 5+ minutes to decide the winner?

Texas played Duke/Prov/Zona @ MSG. Strange schedule, huh?

Texas vs Prov was at Providence on Big Monday. It was a home game for Prov and the line was Prov -1.5. Providence played Illinios at MSG and blew them out.

They probably got caught looking ahead to this big Rivalry Game with Texas. TT needs to establish some sort of dominance over Texas who has won the last 6 game at Lubbuck.(may need to check rec) TT knows that for them to be taken seriously and become top Dawg in Texas, they have to dispose of the Longhorns first. Big Games like these tend to cause a team to lose focus on the opponent at hand, and thus seems like the most logical reason to me for their poor performance against Tex AM.

if they can't show up and beat down a team like A&M (not that they are horrible) then how would you explain how they will perform against a team like Texas.

It would have looked much worse if they lost to A&M than if they lost to UT - and they almost did lose to A&M.

I think the game means a lot to Texas too because they haven't really been able to lay down the law as of yet in any of their wins (except wake who is plummeting).

The fact that it is at TTU does scare me but if I find out more about tomacek I'm gonna still take texas.

But thanks for the input - I may end up laying off if I dont get better injury info.

Texas Tech without big man
Julian Dickinson

Texas Tech pulled out a comeback win over conference rivals Texas A&M earlier this week. But the Red Raiders paid a heavy price.

Tech led for most of Saturday's game, but a late A&M surge forced Head Coach Bobby Knight to take drastic measures. Forward Robert Tomaszek, who had sat out most of the game with an injured foot, was back on the floor in the second half in an effort to salvage another Big 12 win for the Red Raiders.

Tomaszek scored five points and hauled in one rebound, but the effort could affect the big man's health for Tech's next game against the Texas Longhorns tonight.

"He probably shouldn't have played," Knight told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. "There's no structural damage, it's just sore."

Tomaszek injured his foot in a previous game against Oklahoma and could have used more time to let it recover. That time might have to come when the Raiders play against Texas, just when they will need him in the paint to guard high-scoring freshman P.J. Tucker.

Tucker scores 13.5 points per game, however, teams have held him in check recently by guarding him with big, athletic defenders like Tomaszek.

The 6-foot-9 Red Raiders senior is a major contributor, playing 24 minutes and hauling in 5.6 rebounds per game. Without Tomaszek, Tech must rely almost entirely on Devonne Giles, the club's only other solid forward.

Some stellar team shooting (61 percent) and six rebounds from reserve guard Mikey Marshall helped the Raiders get past Texas A&M, but they will need more than perimeter shooting to beat a physical Texas team.

"I need to get in there and crash the boards," Marshall said. "But (on Saturday) we didn't have Robert Tomaszek out there for most of the game and somebody else had to step up."

The line for this contest opened with the Red Raiders as 1 1/2-point favorirtes, but that number has been bet down to a pick 'em. The total is set at 147 1/2.
