How can the Texas line continue to drop????

Texas Tech has played nobody!!! There best win is against a very average Kansas team. They also went to OT with Nebraska who is terrible.

Texas on the other hand has beaten 3 teams which are all top 5 caliber. This line should be more like 12 not 3.5. Graham Harrell has not seen a D-line like Texas we'll see how well he throws when he's running for his life.

Seems like every top ranked team has a hiccup where they don't look as sharp..maybe everyone is banking on it being this game for Texas. I can see it happening, but can't see them losing...

I want to see Texas get beat to drop them down to one loss and let OU back in the mix, but I want to bet on them because I think they will win. I may just stick with UNDER 76.5 and cheer for both defenses. Either way it goes, i don't see this game coming down to less than 7 points.

This reminds of their game two weeks ago against Missouri. Same situation; line was dropping and everyone thought that Missouri was the play. Now the line on this game dropped hard and it makes me want to put more money on Texas. Love Texas to win this game.

Texas is nicked up on defense with defnesive backs Oduegwu out for the season and Chykie Brown probably out for this game, with a player making just his second start taking his place. Texas top 5 safeties are all redshirt freshman..And Mack Browen has said that this is a big concern with this defense.. Now their having to go play their first true road game in a month against an offense and OL that is as good as OU's and OSU. This isn't as easy of a game as it looks. The key here is that Texas is no longer playing at home. And everybody thinks Texas Tech is still Texas Tech..

As good as Texas athletes are I am still pretty comfortable if they have a red shirt freshman in the secondary. Their secondary has been banged up since the OU game. When it comes down to it Orakpo and the rest of Texas front 4 are the best in the nation. When you're front 4 beats their front 5 consistently it makes it a lot easier to play in the defensive secondary...

Which way are you leaning GS????

I understand completely what your saying about the Texas athletes. Their defensive line is really good. But as we've seen, the athletes aren't much different this season between the top 4 teams in the South Division..OSU certainly had their chances to win that game last week. And I believe TT is very close talent-wise to OSU on both sides of the ball. But TT hasn't gotten the publicity because they haven't yet been involved in any of the big games..But it doesn't mean they can't play with the rest of the Big 3 in the South. TT wasn't picked second in the Big 12 South preseason for nothing. They have a ton of talent on offense. And they are very deep on defense. Especially on the defensive line. The fact that they haven't played the schedule of Texas could actually be an advantage in this game.. And I think this is what the sharps are seeing too. So I have a slight lean to TT. But I would like to see this line go back up before I played it.

Any thoughts on that OT game with Nebraska??? How does that happen? Nebraska has looked terrible this year.

Also, they were trailing A&M at half. Yes, they came back to kill A&M but I don't see either of these teams even competing with UT.

I honestly think that was a spot where TT was just overconfident after coming off a 30 point win at KSU. You have to ask yourself, is Nebraska better than the Kansas team that TT beat by 42 last week? My guess is no. It was a typical letdown spot for TT. Their usually good for one or two of these games every year. But that game at least gives TT good line value and puts doubts in people's heads..Which is what I'm counting on. I still think this line will be bet back up. That is if all of the tout services aren't all over Tech. Which if that happens I'll probably lay off the game. But I really do think this is a good spot for Tech this week.

Please. Nebraska is outgaining Big 12 foes by over 100 yards per game!!! This is a frickin' decent football team. What Nebraska team have you been watching????

The line can drop because astute bettors don't want to give an explosive as hell team 6 points on the road in a rivalry game! Duh!!!

i concur with nd2000..

Nebraska is underrated. Infact, my system has them rated 34th in the country.

At the end of the day, Texas Tech is outgaining league foes by 170 ypg and outscoring them 50-26 per game. I have no earthly idea why you would want to give a team like that 12 points on their home field as you suggest, but go right ahead and do it. The Texas Tech OL is massive and talented. They'll do just fine against the Texas DL here.

Who has Nebraska beaten to make you think that their 34th in the country? I see 3 non-BCS teams they've beaten at home along with the two Big 12 cellar dwellars Iowa State and Baylor..What quality wins does Nebraska have to make them warrant any kind of rating in the top 50? I can tell you their losses. To Mizzou big at home...And to a very average and young Va Tech team who had lost half of their starters to the NFL. And that game wasn't as close as the score.

I have been watching a Nebraska team that lost to a very weak V-tech team (in Lincoln) and the next week got POUNDED by Mizzou in Lincoln.

the only decent game that they have played was vs. T-Tech.

Texas -3.5 = LOY

Nebraska is averaging 460 ypg in confernce play. Their offense can move the ball and put up some points, so it was no surprise to me that they hung with Texas Tech. I would not consider that a black eye for the Red Raiders by any means. Nebraska will put up points again this weekend at Oklahoma.

The blowout loss to Mizzou was obviously somewhat of a fluke because Nebraska has bounced back nicely to cover 3 straight games. They aren't as bad as they showed in that game.

Don't get too wrapped up in any rivalry angle. As I listen to national commentators talk about this game I sense a common misconception that it IS a rivalry game, but it's not. Not any more than any other meeting between two very good teams from within the same state, at least.

By that I mean it doesn't fit into the same "throw out all the numbers when these two teams meet" category as long-running, heated, historical rivalries where both programs are battling to recruit the same players. Texas has two of those: Oklahoma and Texas A&M, but Tech isn't in that category. Nebraska is nearer to being a hot rival to Texas than Texas Tech is.

Truth be told, most Longhorn fans I know root for Tech pretty strongly when they're not playing Texas.

One pointer + or -

I think enough fans sports wide have, like I, watched both teams this
year and even though I.m a horns fan I rate this game a true one
pointer either way. The QB's on both teams can lead drives of 80 yds
on any posession every quarter.
Tech got the lead on Kansas and just never stopped whipping on them.
I never give a team like that 6.5 points. Vegas saw it all in a defeat of
Oklahoma for the public. It's a one pointer to me. A great game to see.

This game is identical to the Mizzou game 2 weeks ago. I would even argue that mizzou is better than texas tech.

No it's not. Mizzou may end up finishing ahead of Texas Tech in the final ratings, but TTU is a far better matchup against Texas. Whereas Mizzou got whipped at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball against Texas, Texas Tech has dominant linemen who will be able to hold their own against the Longhorns. I think the line play will be a stalemate and the Texas Tech skill players will win this game for the Red Raiders.
