3 of their top 4 DE's were either injured against Rice or in practice this week. Now another one isn't traveling either. That means that the Red Raiders are now without their top 8 DE's from last season for a myriad of reasons. The only DE by position that they are taking is true freshman Pearlie Graves and even he is projected to play DT in a year or two once they can add more size (he's already over 260 lbs) to him in the offseason. The other two guys that will see a lot of time at DE will be OLB' Daniel Howard and Bront Bird. Tech's only other option is to remove the redshirts of two other true freshman that weren't even expected to contribute in 2010. With Texas already saying that they plan to run the ball with McCoy...this one could get ugly tomorrow night!

I am a Texas Tech man but I've now laid one unit on Texas.

For the record: I hate the Texas Longhorns.

With that being said, Texas is going to completely destroy Tech tomorrow. I don't even expect Colt to play in the fourth quarter so they can save him for a real game. Don't let the numbers fool you, Texas has been basically coasting thru games and trying not to make it look too bad. Tech has been putting up crazy numbers but look at who they have played and who their coach is, they never stop. Anyways, Texas keeps the offense in check and get's pressure on Potts and forces him to make bad decisions. Texas controls the ball on offense, large yardage plays against very weak secondary and that is the story:

Texas: 55 Texas Tech: 24

Texas Tech starting strong safety Mitchem isn't making the trip either. What this does with the TE situation is even though it may not make a difference in the first half of the game, as we get into the second half the lack of DE depth will probably start taking it's toll on Tech. It might make for a good second half play on Texas.

Tech fans have already begun pouring into Austin. We sort of like them, but they're a little like that family member who's a good time but whose company begins to wear thin very quickly.

A friend of mine compared the flood of Tech fans to hundreds of RVs full of hundreds of Cousin Eddies from "Vacation."

I've got Techies on one side of me, Sooners on the others, Aggies across the street, and Baylor folks across the alley behind me. Thank God for the Parkers.
