Texas has been underachieving all season, but they have the talent to make a run in this tournament. I think they have 2 winnable games, although beating duke in NC will not be easy. I like this matchup against Minnesota for them though. The Gophers have just 1 player scoring in double figures and he scores just 12 points a game. Now big 10 numbers are always low because they run 30 seconds off the clock every possesion, but it shows the lack of weapons on offense. Texas brings 4 guys scoring 10+ with 2 scoring 15+. Texas should own the inside with Pittman who is playing the best basketball of his career recently. They have a lot of size down low and if they force the ball inside they will have success. Minnesota does not have a player that gets more than 5 rebounds a game, that will not cut it with the big boys for the long horns. They have all the tools to dominate this game and im taking my chances that they are well prepared and motivated for this tournament and come out with a sense of purpose. If they do that I cant see them not winning this game.

I like Minnesota tonight. Texas plays down to their competition as they proved in the Big 12 tournament and for much of the regular season as well. Beside AJ Abrams, they don't have a go-to guy on offense. Minnesota has had 10 different players score more than 17 points in a game this season. They will give Texas' anemic offense fits on the defensive end. Although I think it will be a close game, I feel like Minnesota wins this game straight up.
