1. If OSU beats OU, then Texas and TTech will tie for 1st place in the Big 12 South and Tech would go to the CCG due to their win over Texas.

2. It OU beats OSU, which Texas actually NEEDS to happen to have ANY chance at making the Big 12 CCG, OU will go to the Big 12 CCG due to their higher BCS ranking than Texas and Tech. Due to SOS and their OOC schedule, OU will nudge Texas out in the BCS despite losing the RRR.

Here's the ONLY way Texas can make the NC game:

1. Mizzouri needs to beat either OU or Tech in the Big 12 CCG.

Bottom line, Texas is screwed and they can thank Blake Gideon for that.

Perhaps by the smallest of margins over #3 UF and #4 OU maybe, but even UF might leap Texas this week. OU will probably NOT leap Texas this week, but will be the smallest of margins behind them if they don't.

But OU would leap Texas after beating OSU on the road, especially if they do it comfortably like tonight.

I don't think it's right, but I see Texas getting royally screwed this year. They'll then play USC in a BCS game if Oregon State wins next week.

the bcs will not have OU leap TX a team they lost to. and even if the gators leap texas either florida or bama will drop out of the conversation after the SEC championship game.

I hope you're right, but keep in mind that UT was only about 0.530 ahead of OU in the BCS going into this week. That margin is going to shrink to almost near 0.150 or less since all the votes that TTech was taking up will be dispersed to the rest of the teams below, MOST of which OU will grab.

Not true...With the BCS it's more about what you do in November than what you did in September or October..Texas has already played the tough part of their schedule..OU is just now getting to it with their win tonight and then OSU next week. If OU can beat OSU it should leapfrog OU past Texas...Keep in mind that when Texas Tech beat the number 1 team Texas they jumped 8 slots in the BCS in one week..OU could very well do the same and move as high as number 2 this week.

Would it be "right"? Of course not. UT will have beat OU by 10 points on a NEUTRAL field...

AND

UT's only loss could have been avoided if it wasn't for the easiest drop pick you will EVER see. I will NEVER let-up on that Blake Gideon drop, NEVER.

BUT...

OU has all the late steam here and will be getting just as many or even more human votes than UT this week, and for sure after next week if they beat OSU comfortably on the road. That's the way I see it playing out.

I actually think OU is the better overall team than UT, but I don't think it would ever be "right" if they got the nod over UT.

I personally don't think it's right for OU to be rated ahead of Texas in the BCS. This is just one of the many major flaws of the BCS...But if you use the Texas beat OU reasoning, then you could also say that Texas Tech has an argument that Texas should not be rated above them, despite their loss to OU tonight...You still have two one loss teams with TT owning the head to head over Texas...So what's the difference? Why is TT any less deserving of being rated ahead of Texas than OU is over Texas?

lots of reasons UT should be ranked ahead of TT... first off UT beat OU on a neutral field.

UT played Tech in Lubbock and even though they played their worst game of the year the game came down to the wire.

The argument is common sense and simple.

UT beats OU who kills TT.

1. UT
2. OU
3. TT

it only becomes convoluted when you try to make it that way.

Using your logic Texas Tech could not drop below Texas in the BCS- Remember Tech beat Texas so they should not ne ranked below Them in the BCS.

So why is Fla ranked 2nd?? They lost to an unranked team on their home field?

That's just my point...The BCS IS convulted. OU beat the team who beat Texas..And they did it in November...The argument could be made both ways. Just not by one game played in October.

Florida moved up mainly because the teams around and ahead of them lost. And more importantly those teams lost in November...The key here is don't lose in November..And if you do you better hope everybody else loses too..Like what happened with LSU last year when everybody lost around them and they ended up in the national title game by default. It looks like this year we're going to have a hell of alot of one loss teams fighting it out...

GS, you think it's possible that it's Texas vs OU in South Beach? I guess the only way for that to happen is for Auburn to beat 'Bama next week, then for 'Bama to upset Florida in the SEC Championship. Boom, there it is. Cotton Bowl in South Beach. That'd be some good shit man. We're not afraid. OU is a different team at home.

Although I would like to see it, the chances of an OU-Texas matchup is very remote. I think the human part of the BCS is going to say no way two teams from the same conference are going to play for the NC. Especially since they've already played each other once..

Pretty damned good......in the 2nd half. You put Florida, Oklahoma, Alabama, ANYONE, in Lubbock at night, and the same thing happens. We played like absolute dogshit....and we still almost one. It happened to Oklahoma last year. Lubbock is known as the Bermuda Triangle. Answer me this.....How did Texas look on October 11th in Fair Park around 3 p.m? Listen, we can argue all day about who deserves to be where, but it's all meaningless. I say just let the polls and BCS fall where they may, because as a Longhorn, I'm loving our position.
