As long as the Sand Aggies lose a game, TEXAS is in pretty good shape. Thank goodness the computers see the strength of our schedule and appreciate it. It's going to be one hell of a wild ride through the rest of this college football season.

I disagree. I think OU has the best chance to rep the Big 12 in the title game. They will likely be the highest rated team in terms of the BCS as long as they win out. If they beat Tech by 14+ like I think they will I can't see OU not getting the higher ranking. I think Texas' only hope is for Ok St to beat Tech this weekend, and then have Tech lose to OU.

If it's a three way tie OU would be the one to move forward. If it's just OU and Texas obviously the Longhorns would go. They would still need Penn St to lose though and maybe even USC because a one loss Florida team would go ahead of them.

Texas will crush Baylor, Tech has their hands full.
Texas has a chance to play for the NCG, (but I see PSU running the table)

Be interesting if Tech beats OSU then loses to OU, if OU will jump over Texas. If someobody beats somebody head to head and has the same record I can't see how that's justified, but stranger things have happened.

Careful of that game in Stillwater.

Just curious GS, but do you know if Okie Lite has a bigger athletic budget than OU? They certainly have one of the most dedicated boosters in the highly respected T. Boone Pickens who I greatly admire for his keen business acumen and all the philanthropic work he's done.

Under this senario.. Tech would go to Big 12 championship game. Both would have 1 loss in big 12 with Tech winning head to head....UNLESS Okie state beats OU.. This creates a 3-way tie for Big 12..team with highest BCS goes to BIG 12 Championship game.. However, a one loss texas would need several teams to lose ( I think a one loss FLA or USC would pass them under this senario)

I know OSU has some great facilities. Whether they have a bigger budget than OU I have no idea. But Boone Pickens pretty much gives and has given them everything they've needed. This team is quickly becoming to OU what Auburn has been to Bama the last few years. An in-state thorn in the side. The worst part about it is having to put up with their annoying fans. With the best chance of beating OU for the first time in a few years, they are all about to cream in their jeans. This is all they live for.

Haha, I think it's great for the sport and that's the most important factor. Competition only makes us better afterall and I'm sure they're not in love with your fans either. BOL to both sides the rest of the way.

it would take a miracle for Texas to get to the MNC game. Even though they are ahead of UF right now, if UF wins out and beats an undefeated Bama team, I would expect them to be ahead of Texas.

I think the big question is, could Texas be BCS top 2 without playing in the Big 12 Championship game? I guess it's possible but it's more likely that voters would put that winner ahead of Texas.

too many questions at this point. I think Texas is worthy of going to the MNC game but there are too many quality teams standing in their way. a BCS nod is more likely provided they win out.

also, USC is being mentioned everywhere but doesnt OregonSt stand in their way?

with the QB injured, they are in big trouble, but their schedule isnt impossible considering how far down the Pac10 is....

Sat, Nov 8 at UCLA
Sat, Nov 15 California
Sat, Nov 22 at Arizona
Sat, Nov 29 (23) Oregon

the TCU/Utah winner and Boise can crash the BCS party cant they? Plus you have the auto qualifiers from ACC/Big East. A one loss Bama team (to Florida). Could have two teams from big12 with 1-loss Texas/TTech/Oklahoma/OkieSt. There arent enough bids to go around. USC may make it into the top6 by default even though they havent beaten anyone good and actually lose to a mediocre team

ASSUMING ALL TOP 6 teams win out:

texas is done. their strength of schedule has nowhere to go but down, a few teams behind them have nowhere to go but up.

UF still plays what may be a ranked FSU team, and a undefeated or 1 loss Bama team. Couple of wins there will be an easy leapfrog.

OU can beat OKST and TXTECH, and that may be enough for them to leapfrog

not sure how the big 12 title game works. anyone care to educate me on tiebreakers?

Box...If there is a three way tie in the South then OU would go to the Big 12 Title game because they would be the highest rated team in the BCS because of strength of schedule. If it comes down to two teams OU & Texas, then Texas would go because they won the head to head with OU. TT is the only team in the Big 12 that controls their own desitiny. As for the big picture the BCS game, it wouldn't surprise me that if Penn State doesn't win big, and win convincenly for the rest of the season, they could get leapfrogged by a Florida or OU, or maybe even one of the other teams from the Big 12. If Bama goes undefeated, it won't necessarily be a Bama-Penn State game because of the strength of the Big 12, who has 4 teams in the top 8. Penn State hasn't had to play near the competetion. Which will make this a very close race.

i would think the only way Texas gets to MNC is to win the big12 champ game and the only realistic way for that to happen is for TTech to lose against OkSt and Okla. If that happens, then all the tiebreaks go Texas' way. If Texas gets into a 3way tie for first, Oklahoma will end up going.

If teams like Bama and TTech lose a game (possible), Texas wont move up to #2. Teams like OU and UF will leap them.

If a miracle happens and PennSt loses, then all bets are off :)

I heard somewhere here the tiebreaker for the Big 12 title game is head to head if it's two teams and highest BCS ranking if it's three teams that all are 1-1 against each other (that would be the case if Tech wins against Ok St, but loses to OU). OU would probably be the highest ranked there and move on to the Big 12 title game. IMO there should be no way you get to play for the title if you don't win your conf, so any team that doesn't make their conf title game is done imo.

Texas needs Tech to lose this weekend AND lose to OU. Not sure why people are saying they need them to win against the Sooners. If Tech loses the next two weeks then Texas will win the Big 12 most likely. That will leave them with one loss, Tech with two losses, ok st with one loss, and ou with one loss. OU and Ok St still play each other so the winner will be tied with Texas for the Big 12 South, and Texas beat both of them, so they would take the tiebreaker. Only way Texas has a chance at the title is if tech loses two weeks straight. That's the only way I see it happening.

Either way though I think Florida and Penn St are playing for the title unless one of them lose.

Only teams with title chances are: UF, PSU, Alabama, Texas, Tech, OU, and USC. Every other team is eliminated pretty much. The team that needs the most help is USC because they need the North to win the Big 12 and Penn St to lose a game, then they would play bama or uf for the title.
