For all the OU lovers, it's moving your way. I knew I should've jumped on TEXAS at +7. I too thought it would go the other way, but I guess not, as people are now realizing that Muschamp & Co will smother the OU gameplan. BOL.

Yeah i'm pissed that I loaded up on OU at 7, but I dont know that the half point will make a difference one way or the other. I think one of us will win and one will lose, but either way it won't be by 7......

Good point....unless it's like last year. I believe it HAS to come back. There's no way the line keeps dropping with all the negativity the media is pouring on Texas. Or all the manloving their doing w/ OU.

jb, haven't you been posting over the last few weeks how Texas won't be able to even keep it close? Surely that sloppy-ish win over a lost Colorado team didn't change your mind THAT much.

you have to also keep in mind that the majority of the public money probably won't start pouring in until friday night/saturday morning....there are MANY degenerates out there that play with a small bankroll and play day to day, putting half or all of it on the line every night only to have to deposit more the next day if they lose. I know several guys like this that will not play the game until its close to game time because they have their bankroll already tied up in earlier games. I honestly think with the OU exposure being so much and Texas exposure being relatively muted, that this like will move even further the other way by game time.

Why is Texas' pass defense ranked 96th?

Because they are allowing 244 yards per game through the air against terrible teams.

As a matter of fact, this FAU team that we all were just so fond of watching threw for 255 yards against them in the season opener...

Part of that is because the Texas run defense is outstanding -- third in Division I at a little under 52 yards a game. Opponents can't run so they have to pass much more than usual. In fact, there are only four teams that have more passing attempts against them than Texas.

Pass defense is the team's weakness, but it's also something of a misleading stat, as Texas ranks 28th in overall defense and, more importantly, 7th in points allowed per game.

My concern is that OU has faced a better run defense in TCU. Colorado has been the first game that Texas has played. At least OU has played TCU and Cincy. I am not sure if Texas is as legit as I intially thought based on who they have played.

NOT AT ALL. It's just because it's UT-OU week and all these Sooner lovers bring out the fire in me. Smart money would be to put it on the side that's proven itself year in and year out, but I could never do that. I just have this sneaking suspicion that the Muschamp effect is truly going to have an effect this weekend. These Texas football players aint scared. We shall see.

Very good point....Rice threw for over 300 yards against them and also had 2 takeaways from Texas in the game and still only managed to score 10 points. I think an OU team would be able to capitalize a lot more on stats like that then Rice did, though.

FWIW...Texas has covered the last 4 in a row....OU the 5 in a row before.....seems like this series gets covered by one team or the other for several years in a row. The question is, is it Texas' last year or OU's turn to start again?

I'd also say, jb, that focusing on line movement in this game probably won't really tell you a ton. It's one of those games HEAVILY bet among recreational gamblers -- like the Super Bowl and other Big Games -- but I don't know how much action the professionals will take on this matchup. A 7-point line looks pretty accurate to me. There may be some Big Boys hoping to gets bets straddling that 7-line, but I have a hard time seeing them putting a lot of cash on a game that historically has been hard to predict.

Especially since it hasn't been decided by less than 7 points in over 10 years...

There are still many 7s around. This game hasn't been hit by a "group" yet. Call GRANDE, see how much Texas +7 they will take. d1g1t:103631605d1g1t

Thats not shape money moving the line 1/2; Its just Texas fans who this week... turned in their empty beer cans for 5 cents a pop... and bet on the longhorns. Bet the over in this gruge match with the only way texas covers is by back door.
