I was wondering because I had heard that there was a budget crunch and U of Cal was having trouble affording new facilities for the sports programs. I think if he leaves, he would go pro.oldmanTED said:Fair Warning:
Tedford can right his own ticket to almost anywhere, but it wouldn't surprise me if he decided to stay at California. I sure hope so anyway. By the way, I hold nothing against Texas and believe they are deserving of a BCS spot as well. What is ridiculous is how many automatic conference bids there are, leaving little room to assure that the best eight teams are in the series.
I thought they could pick anyone, I stand corrected.Cubsmac said:Get a Clue man....the Rose Bowl did not choose Texas. They were stuck with Texas. Texas jumped ahead of Cal in the BCS polls, thus Texas was guaranteed a BCS bid, and Cal was left on the outside looking in. The Rose Bowl I am sure is as pissed off as you are that they are stuck with this matchup. Personally, i completely agree. Cal deserves to be there, Texas doesnt. The Rose Bowl is about tradition, Pac-10 - Big-10, and it should look like that every year(except when they host the title game). But they got screwed out of it, just like Cal. The BCS system made the choice, not the Rose Bowl.
