I'm already on record as taking South Carolina -10 (yep, bought the half at *********, lol). Folks, read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Sumlin#Head_coaching_record
I personally have nothing against Sumlin, I think he's great for the game, played it and now coaching it. But I challenge anyone here to find the word "defense" in that link above. Yeah, a few guys have come on and noted that they're bringing back "9" D starters, my own DD shows 8 but one more won't matter with this group (obviously, with that many starters returning, none were good enough to jump to the big league, lol). This team is gonna be exposed for the first time in THE BEST conference in America. Hurts to say that since I've been a diehard Sooner fan since Bud was coaching, even though I'm a 'Dore alum and lettered (shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone). But these guys are gonna get waxed this season, and my two best gridiron plays this season are to bet against both the A&Sham goats and the Dallas cowgirls (let's see Jerry go into cardiac arrest on national TV this season, lol). If you like money, and I give a lot to charity but that doesn't mean I don't like it, play the Cocks next weekend and mail me you thanks when you cash. BOLTA

As a Gamecock fan I hope you're right. I think we will score between 40 & 50, just not sure what to expect out of our defense. Gotta a lot of youth in the secondary so if we don't get to the quarterback we could give up a lot also. I don't like betting on the Gamecocks but if I had to pick a side in this one it would definitely be us! Good luck!

The good news is you'll score 28-35. The bad news for A&M is they'll only score 3. GLTU

Since joining the SEC, this appears to be the first time that A&M has to travel to take on one of the 3 powers from the east (S Caro, Georgia, Florida). Breaking in a new QB and on a national stage Thursday prime time game, it does appear to be a tall order. Not sure I want to lay double digits though, but that's the way I would lean if I had to play it.

You are insane if you think A&M only scores 3 points and south carolina runs away with this. Don't worry about the offense, loaded at every position. Offensive line is as stout as ever. A&Ms defense will be better with an actual pass rush.

I also wouldn't be so high on Thompson. Being that last year he had 4 TD and 3 INT.

I'm not gonna waste anyone's time dissin the opinion of a poster, but your avatar kind of exposes you if you know what I mean, lol. A&Sham's offense will be the worst Sumlin has put on the field since going to College Station, I'd bet monumental amounts of money on that and I'm fairly certain the rest of the forum would be right behind me in the wagering line. South Carolina wins by 21-28 in a landslide, I've already bet it and I never bet opening day, but that's how certain I am that the cocks are gonna be kissing those aggie women in the stands, lol. I'll wish you best of luck, because the sharecroppers are gonna need it this season.

GS, if you're lurking out there, today I now have an appreciation for moving to the right coast. Gonna be grilling some yellow fin tuna, fresh, and made up a crazy good ahi dish that everyone is snacking on right now. Gonna smoke some king mackerel that was still flopping when I bought everything this am. Hell, I sat at Tulsa Int'l I can't count the mornings waiting for the fish plane to come in, now I just drive down the street, lol. At least there will be good hoops around here. GLTA

I'm sure so many people would take a bet that A&Ms offense would not be top 5 3 years in a row... Johnny or not.

And how exactly does me rooting for A&M expose me? What did I say that was incorrect or homer in any way? That the offense has reloaded? Between RSJ, Speedy, Kennedy and Josh Reynolds... I see any opposing secondary having problems. A&M has 3 RBs that could all easily be starters. A&M has another potential first round OT. Kenny Hill isnt a bad QB, but from what i read if A&M would be playing easier game up front Kyle Allen would be starting. And was it because i said the defense would be better and actually have a pass rush? I have heard that myles garrett has been beating said OT during scrimmage. HAHA and besides how could it be any worse?

I didn't say anything about A&M winning the game. I didn't say anything about your bet, but if the line was A&M +21. I would do something I haven't done in a very long time and bet A&M. I also don't get buying the hook if you think south carolina wins by twice the spread.

He got you there, ZING!

As a Gamecock, I am very leary of Thompson, and our CBs and Secondary. Scared to a point actually. If the D Line can't pressure the QB, I feel anyone could have a chance to pass on us. If the RBs don't stay healthy, mainly Mike Davis, Thompson can't get it done on hi own. He loves to just hurl it down field (reason for being INT prone), and doesn't have the legs of Shaw. We shall see, but I'm not buying the hype this year until I see us play a few games.

It's here guys! Enjoy the CFB Season...

OK, gonna go easy as we're all here to help one another. I bought the half because 7+, 10+, 14+, 17+, etc., etc., are voodoo numbers for me and probably 90 percent of the rest of the gambling world. Do I think the Aggies have a ghost's chance in hell of keeping it within 10, NO! But if you can afford to put up the extra 10% to cover an easy to land on number, I always do it. I can't see the decal on the helmet of the guy in your avatar, but my best guess it's an Aggie player, hence the reference to your being a little biased. If I'm wrong, my bad. Again, I'm not here to slam you or anyone else who has an educated opinion on a game. That being said, I'll wish you the best of luck this season, it starts in four days baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! I am so stoked, lol.

Tmader... let me start over. I am not trying to slam your bet on South Carolina. I only meant to state that I think it will be closer than people think with my reasoning for that thinking. The person in my avatar is former A&M player Christine Michael. If people bet against A&M it doesn't hurt my feelings. Good luck, I can't believe the season is so close.

I tend to lean with the Gamecocks here as I can get it at 10 without buying the half point. I just think the Gamecocks wear down the Aggies in the second half and pull away- however, the S.C. secondary scares me and usually Sumlin coached teams can chunk the ball around very well. I haven't posted in this forum in some time- looks like the conversations are a lot more mature compared to covers- I think I'll stay around as football is my favorite sport by far and I usually do well- Good luck!

Wow, you must be extremely butthurt and bitter about the Cotton Bowl beatdown Sumlin and the Texas A&M Aggies put on your sooners and massacre of your commodores. I'll bet you any amount of money you can muster up that the Ags score more than 3 points. .

thinking about going to the game

Might be there myself, which a few months ago, would have been hard to do from Tulsa, lol. From the right coast, anything's possible. Cooked a rockin feast for my mother's friends last night and one of them turned out to be a Gamecock and naturally, he invited the "new fan" to the game. Temps are great here today, it'd be near a 100 in Switzerland (that's for you GS) right now, so I'm livin it up in the cool. Three days men, just three more days.

They had that in this morning's sports section (Charlotte Observer), man, I guess you've made it when you see yourself larger than life. I haven't accepted yet, lot of irons in the fire right now. But I'm a one-armed juggler, paper hanger and 2 cap from the best course in Oklahoma so I'll figure out and find a way. Have fun at the game, there is absolutely no better time in America than an opening season college football game, NOTHING!
