A&M is averaging 27 PPG. Even against OU and TT, they got their average and they are coming off their 2nd lowest scoring effort of 21 points last week. A&M covers with 35 against OU and TT. A&M is 25th in Passing Offense.......Texas is 110th Passing Defense. There is nothing down the stretch that tells you that Texas can even keep A&M in the teens defensively either.

If Sherman can't get a couple of decent Quarters out of this team against their biggest rival they should go ahead and fire him now. If A&M hits their average then Texas must hit 60+ and they haven't done that all season.

This Line is off by at least 8 points and I have to take them.

A&M + whatever they give me.

You may be the first person ive seen that has had anything somewhat positive to say about A&M, or think that they have a chance. I do think they have a chance, to keep it within the 35. Sherman is still dealing with players that were built for the option with no defense in mind. The defense is slow and young! They take bad lines and constantly out of position. The nearly all WR, are freshman, doing very well... shermans recruits. Fran screwed up A&M for a long time to come. Ive said it before Brown has too much class to run up the score even with the NC up for grabs. If Texas gets up quick, they will pull back. Everyone has only looked at the final score and not what has happened. A&M led tech at halftime 20-23, texas was losing to tech 22-6 at halftime. OU beat Tech worse than they beat A&M. But Baylor beat A&M by 20... so who knows what will happen

I would not make this a big play. Because as ive said, defense is horrible, O line is young... GL tonight

I was wondering the same thing about this game...I haven't seen one person, except for the OP, who is on A&M in this game. ...which scares me because the population isn't always so convinced.

Is there any reason to make a play on A&M tonight?

Here is what im thinking. Would a Div-1 team beating down a div-2 team, by 70 points be better than a top div-1 team barely beating another top div-1? I'm taking A&M as well.

Reason to play A&M? I can give you a million, but they are irrelevant since this is a different team than those that have played in the past. The only reason is, this is a rivalry for A&M... Texas doesnt think so much anymore, its just kind of faded out. A&M is playing for pride, ut is playing for a NC game. Brown told his players he would not nor let his players talk about the bcs until after the game. GL tonight

Two Words: Mike Sherman!

A washout NFL coach who will get humiliated on Thursday night. Mack will not call off the dogs. GL!

The biggest problem that has faced Texas A&M this year is they are returning just 10 starters off of a team who barely finished above .500 last season. And when you add a new coach and new system on top of that, it makes for all of the ingredients of a bad season. I pretty much had the Aggies capped out this summer to win 3 games this season. So they have done a little better than I expected..But the bottom line with this team is they don't have the manpower. They lost virtually everybody from both lines. They have a new coach and a new system. They have done a little better job offensively since McGee went out at QB. But their still only averaging about 350 yards per game. And now their going up against a Texas defense that allows less than 350 ypg. And that's after playing against 4 of the best offensive teams in the nation, who all average over 500 ypg total offense..So this stat alone tells me that the Aggies are probably going to struggle here on offense. And the Aggie defense has given up an average of 51 points a game against the Big 12 South. And that includes Baylor! So they really have their work cut out for them to hold Texas under 51 points while trying to get to their season average of 25 ppg scored against South Division teams. Keep in mind that with the exception of their home game against Texas Tech, most all of the Aggies points have been scored in junk time when the game was decided. So in order for them to cover this spread, their going to have to hold Texas to that 51 point average while getting their average points scored on offense. And do it on the road. It looks like a pretty tough task to me. Especially since their going up against the best defense that they've faced all year. By the way, you really can't put any blame on Sherman..He stepped into a very tough situation at A&M. I think he needs to be given some time to get his system in place and to be able to draft the players he needs for it. Right now he's working with players that were drafted for the option attack trying to play a spread attack. I'm surprised they've done as well as they have. Sherman may not be as bad a coach as people think. Only time will tell.

I just don't see any value in Texas -35 in such an intense rivalry. The players get up big for these games. I see A&M getting 20, pretty easily, so that would mean Texas would need to nail 55? No thanks.

I think asking Texas A&M to get to 20 points here when they only manged 21 against a bad Baylor defense is asking alot.

This I realize...

I'm not going to pretend I've watched A&M action this season but I just can't get see laying 5 TDs in a rivalry game. Just me, though. I probably won't touch this either way but GL everyone!

I can understand that... In this case where the Horns are playing for BCS position and after losing the last 2 games to the Aggies, I think the play is either on Texas, or it should be a no play. Don't hold me to it, but I think the people who took Texas A&M +35 are going to be squirming in their seats a little when Texas is up by 28 points in the 3rd quarter.

The only thing that makes me hesitate to take the over is I heard there is about a 40% chance of rain tonight in Austin. And it's a natural grass field. So I would take a close look at the weather before I pulled the trigger on the totals.

The past couple of years, texas has freaked against A&M for whatever reason. They have been playing for a spot in the BCS and thats what has screwed them up. 11 in 06 and 13 in 07. All this pressure has always built on texas. It is what has screwed them up in the past. Mac Brown is trying to stop that. This game is either going to be really good for the books or really bad. I see a back door being left wide open the entire fourth quarter. 5 touchdowns in a game A&M looks forward to all season... i cant help but take it. everyone looks for what the want in a game they want to bet, or have already taken. So arguing about it is moot. Baylor has looked to make A&M a rivalry for a long time, the sad part is with the decline in A&M football its turning that way.

GS, ive been saying that for a while, i want to wait to see what sherman can do before they haul off and fire him so early, hes still playing with frans recruits. I still havent made up my mind, but it is his first season.

BTW: from what i hear, all over austin 45-35 is being shown. Even heard that saturday, someone is being paid to fly a banner that has the score 45-35 over stillwater

linebets;6075749) BTW: from what i hear said:
You won't get an argument out of me that Texas is probably on their way to getting jobbed in the BCS poll. But I think their wasting their money and time flying banners all over the country before all of the games have even been played out.
