That's ridiculous. Besides, a lot of what used to be america has been decaying for quite some time.

It seems like people are outraged at how it has been handled, but I haven't heard one person say "leave me in that condition".

I have only heard "pull the plug on me" when I have spoken to friends/family and strangers alike.

I cannot explain the ambiguity - is this perception media driven?

for the record I would like all of you as witnesses saying volhound posted a thread saying" I ain't going out like that"

its never good when someone dies, but lets not turn this into the biggest event since the civil war. One person died. People die all the time. She was a vegetable that could not talk or communicate. It isnt like she died in the prime of her life. And for all we know she was in pain every day for the last 15 years and we just eased her pain.

And like vol said, i dont know a single family member or friend that would want to be alive for 15 years like that. if not for themselves but for their families. I wouldnt want to be a burden to my family for 30 years. And i know the parents wanted her alive, but my parents would do the same thing, that is what parents do. A good child wouldnt want to put their own parents in that position.

by the way,if she was an 80 year old black women living in harlem we would never had heard about this.

I think the liberal media goes to great lengths to make the current republican government look bad. But even if they didn't have such an agenda, they stand to gain a lot just by making an issue more controversial than it really is.

Telling the truth and representing reality are at best tertiary considerations.

Interesting way to ease somebody's pain. Just starve them to death.

Her husband is an absolute monster, doing everything possible to torment her family.

Damn, the "kill 'em because they are no longer useful" and the race card in the same post. Nobody will ever know how much pain she was in, or how brain damaged she was, her "hubby" took the money and ran elsewhere.

Don't feel guilty, Vol. I'm sure Mr. Schavio is having a nice laugh right now himself.

if it was you laying there, would you want to be kept alive for 40 years in that state?

and you are a typical conservative twisting the facts. No one said kill her because she is useless. that hasnt come up in any discussion. She is not herself anymore. She is a vegetable. the best thing the parents can show us is a video that shows her following a balloon around around a room. Thats the way i want to live for 15 years!

not to mention her husband said that she wouldnt want to live if she was in this type of situation.

the conservatives got exactly what they asked for.

all we heard about in november was how great smaller goverment was, its better for the state to handle more issues blah blah. now they sound like a bunch of whiny wanna be liberals. you dont like it the goverment couldnt step in, thats too bad. why dont you think a little harder about what youre voting for next time around.
