Fuck you. Your avatar says it all. We'll see if it comes back to haunt them or not. The only way not making the two comes back to haunt you is if you let the Cowboys drive for another TD & then you're 9 down. But, if that's your worry there, it sure doesn't show much faith in your defense. Now, if the Cowboys drive & kick a FG, you need a TD instead of a FG.
Lol this is a business. It is very easy for a fan to judge sitting on his couch with no investment in the outcome besides a couple hundred dollars. Mark mccarthy has a job to do
Last season week 17 vs bears for the division the Bears were up 28-20 early in 4th and packers got a TD and didn't go for 2. Later Rodgers hits Cobb for 55 yards on 4th down and they win by 6. It was the right call...
The original poster is 100% correct. This is simple Math. The SCORE of the game should dictate whether or not you go for 2 NOT the juncture of the game. This old school notion of "it's too early to go for 2" is a farce. Now it might not come into play but McCarthy made a mistake by kicking the XP being down by 2 instead of going for 2. There is no risk in going for 2 being down by 2 as you still need a FG to take the lead whether you're down by 1 or down by 2. Whereas, you're taking a risk not going for 2 to at least ATTEMPT to tie the game should your team not score again. Stupid.
I don't give a damn about any wagers I, or anyone else has on the game. I'm talking about having a chance to tie instead of being down 1 with 16 minutes to go in a playoff game. Maybe it won't matter, but if they lose by 1 I'd be sick. If it had been early or even halfway through the third quarter I'd agree with not going for it. Now that they've scored, you definitely go for two here obviously.

So you count on that happening every time in that situation? If they would have gone for two in your scenario & not made it, they still would have won that game, right?
