Terrell Suggs has been charged with two misdemeanors stemming from a car accident in Arizona earlier this month, and he could face jail time if convicted.

Suggs was arrested on March 4 following a minor car crash outside a Mexican restaurant when police discovered that he was driving with a suspended license. TMZ reports that Suggs also hit a wall with his car and left the scene, so he has been charged with failure to notify after striking a fixture in addition to driving with a suspended license.

If convicted of the suspended license charge, Suggs faces a maximum penalty of six months in jail. He could get 30 days for the failure to notify charge.

Suggs was also fined for failure to control speed to avoid a collision, which is only a moving violation.

TMZ shared some footage of a police officer explaining the charges to Suggs, who seemed annoyed:

While it’s possible, jail time is unlikely for Suggs. Judging by the way he reacted on social media after being booked, he isn’t all that concerned.

With all their money (and lawyers, agents, accountants, advisors, entourage) --- why is it so difficult for these guys to maintain a valid license + auto insurance?

ya really or how about if your license is suspended you have your own driver until you get your license back, I'm sure he can afford it.

Diamond earrings, gold chainz and cristal at the club really does eat into those millions pretty fast.

Among the first things he said to the cop, when asked what happened, was "I have a GF at home but I was visiting another woman at The Fairmount-Princess".

Huge $$$ Top of the line Resort.

I'm very familiar with the area in which this happened and among the "North Scottsdale Scene" which is to say "High Income (Fat Bankroll) Party Scene" Greyhawk (where Suggs lives), Desert Highlands, Troon etc. this became a huge LOL moment....this statement.

Totally did not help his cause whatsoever, was completely unnecessary and utterly astonishing to have come from his mouth, people are like:

WTF Seriously?!!? "I have a GF at home but I was visiting another woman at The Fairmount-Princess". who begins a statement to Police that will birth a written record of such that will then be become public record by saying this??!!??

People are still totally stunned, in complete disbelief and laughing about it.

Its just, like: "WOW. Really??!!?? No way."

Maybe they will put up a statue for him too.

I'm sure the youth of Baltimore could use another positive role model.

Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs told members of the Ravens that he's moving on, a source told ESPN. One of the top leaders and characters in franchise history, he had spent his entire 16-year NFL career in Baltimore.
The departure of Suggs, 36, continues what could be a major turnover for the NFL's top-ranked defense. Safety Eric Weddle was cut and signed with the Los Angeles Rams last week, and middle linebacker C.J. Mosley could also leave in free agency.
Throughout his career, Suggs expressed a desire to join Jonathan Ogden and Ray Lewis as players who were "Ravens for life." Instead, Suggs will finish out his career elsewhere like Ed Reed and Haloti Ngata.
Suggs is one of the most accomplished pass-rushers in NFL history, ranking first among active players with 132.5 sacks and tying Lawrence Taylor and Leslie O'Neal for 13th all-time. Even though he's not the same consistent force, he finished second on the NFL's top-ranked defense in sacks with seven last season.
Known for his leadership, durability and passion, Suggs is putting together a Hall of Fame resume, being named to seven Pro Bowls and earning the NFL defensive player of the year award in 2011. He made it clear after the season that he wasn't retiring, saying "I don't feel that itch."
The big question is how much does Suggs have left. His 34 total tackles were his fewest in a full season since his 2003 rookie season, and he managed 1.5 sacks in his final 10 games last season (including the playoff loss to the Chargers).
Suggs has been one of the best players in Ravens history. The 10th overall pick of the 2003 draft, he is the franchise's all-time leader in sacks and forced fumbles (35) and ranks second in total tackles (844) and fumble recoveries (14).
This marked the first time in Suggs' career that he entered free agency.
