Rivera rips a potential homerun off the top of the wall..he just squeezes in a double..

1 out double for the Vols..

I love this ASU coach..

he's been yelling randomly from the dugout how bad the umpires suck and calling them horseshit its pretty funny..now hes out there arguing

Fly out to RF.

Pitching change.

Averill's final line for ASU:

5.2 IP 8 Hits 2ER 2BB 1K

Man on 2nd, for Alex Suarez with 2 outs, he's 1-2 with a double down the line and he'll face a right handed reliever...havnt seen who yet...

Vols 2 ASU 1 bot of 6 2 outs Vols batting

ASU right handed reliever to face the righty suarez...

Brenaham i think his name was
throwing 92-94

Blows suarez away on the 1st two pitches and then Suarez hits a weak groundout to 2nd to end the inning.

The 3 most crucial innings in a game...7, 8 and 9

Vols 2 Sun Devils 0 Top of 7, Sun Devils up to the plate

Leadoff man gets on for ASU, I think by walk.

Next guy strikes out trying to bunt him over.

Next guy is Larish their big homerun threat. Adkins gets ahead 0-2 and on a "waste" pitch he throws a curveball low and away in the dirt it gets away from the catcher and ASU moves the runner to 2nd, which eliminated the K by Adkins. Larish ends up hitting the ball back at Adkins leg, which bounces off his leg to the 2nd baseman for an out. Runner moves up to 3rd.

Next guy base hit up the middle. ASU scores.

Next guy grounds out to 2nd.

Bottom of 7th

Tennessee 2 Arizona State 1

Tennessee up to bat.

If Adkins can retire ASU in order, he wont have to face their rough part of the lineup for the rest of the game. Bottom ot middle of the order in the 8th for ASU, then bottom/top in the 9th.

Rip Basehit to lead off the inning. When do you consider putting in Watson?

I say 1 more batter.

A weak chopper that just bounces over the 1st baseman's head State scores the tying run and they have men on 2nd and 3rd no outs.

2 weak seeing eye singles through the right side.

Tennessee has had their chances to put State away and they have become their own worst enemy.

2-2 no outs 2nd and 3rd

This is some poor, poor managing by the Vols manager....

This kid should not have come back out for the 8th inning and now his blunder is going to cost his team a win...

This guy should be fired after this game for what he is doing to his pitcher and team....

What game is this coach watching???? Holy crap.

I am by no way an expert but I know when a kid doesn't have it anymore.

Delmonico is really pissing me off. He's got a stud closer in the bullpen and he wont take this freshman out. Hes pitched a hell of a game but ASU has been through the order too many times theyve seen his curveball.

some weak choppers and singles with eyeballs

now a deep fly ball to make it 3-2

He's completely lost it. I mean he has given up a couple of well hit balls, but a couple of seeing eye singles that found their way through the infield, but he's got a stud closer in the bullpen, whats the hesitation???

This is poor managing. Theyve been ahead all game, completely dominated ASU batters, and they might come out on the losing end.

Put your stud closer in for the final 2 innings and let him seal the deal.

Now they have to play catch up in their next two at bats, which I have confidence in their batting, but geez they shouldnt be in this situation.

That's frustrating. He left the freshman out to dry. He's thrown enough pitches, he's given them all he needed to give them. You could see from the previous innings they were starting to get used to the breaking ball, and he stubbornly left him out there, and it could cost them the game.

He brings in the stud closer Sean Watson finally, gets the groundout to 3rd with the infield in and they get the runner at the plate, then the next batter flies out to right.

4-2 ASU, Tennessee now with 2 at bats to try to catch up
