I did not bet on this game so do not think that I am saying this out of spite because I lost money but they are overrated. They are not as good as everyone thinks and maybe it's just because Tyler Smith has been in a slump but I can guarantee this, I will never bet on them the rest of this year.
ehh they are never a good tournament team because of their helter skelter style any team can get hot from 3 and beat them. They are deep and wear teams down during the regular season. They should win the SEC regular season and get the #1 seed. I would say they are rated about right in the top 15.
Oh and Bruce Pearl is not as good of a coach that I thought he was...whenever another team goes on a big run that completely shifts the momentum he just tries to let his team play through it when they clearly need to call a timeout...against Gonzaga they were up 12 at one point and he let them come all the way back and take the lead...right now Kentucky is on a 10-0 and yet still no timeout...TENNESSEE is overrated and is not a top 25 team
pearl has 400 wins (2nd youngest ever to get there) and like the second highest win % in NCAA coaches, maybe 3rd? how good did you think he was???
the game is far from over but i agree TN is a good team to fade, they have top 5 talent but they are young - lost a LOT of minutes from last years team. the offense has no leadership or identity - yet
I didn't identify what I meant with Pearl. I guess I just do not understand why he consistently let's other teams go on 10-0 or 15-0 runs and thinks his team will play out of it immediately. It just does not make sense to me. I love the orange jacket and the enthusiasm but when runs like this occur, a timeout is necessary to sit back and calm down.
