I am not saying its a bad pick. I now suspect that Collins is a dirty old smart dog. He knew all this time that VY would never be able to lead a team like this to the superbowl. This is why Collins refused to move to start for another team. And yes folks 3-4 teams called on Kerry collins and he declined all of them. In the preseason this was one of the big topics around town. Why kerry collins liked it so much here yet he could have been with another team. I saw him interviewed about this and he said he has been there done that..bla bla bla..NFL is a business first and foremost. Dont ever ever believe that there is a QB anywhere on any team who would turn down big money and choose to sit on the bench.
Collins knew what the hell was going on with this titans team. The man just sat and was biding his time.
Now he has his chance. He has a very nice running game, an offensive line that wont get him killed, and a defense so go that all collins has to do is complete a few third downs here and there and the defense will get him the win.
All he has to do is manage the team. Not turn the ball over and this team will probably go to the AFC championship game.(laugh now, but several sports casters have said this same thing already this week)
And the movement of that line should be an indication as to where the sharp money is going..(being that joe-six pack will definately bet against Titans at Bengals with Vince young not playing)
Prediction..Carson palmer will not finish this game due to injury
Bengals will rush for under 50 yards total
Titans will rush for over 250+ yards.

sorry. i think it was my mistake...a typo.... you are still correct, titans +1 ...i think im going to take that point and run.....but if titans outright win the game, that one point is useless.... im just unsure about collins going against palmer.... im from SF and i know how raiders played when collins was there... it was probably just the weak raiders that couldnt hold up for collins back then.

Been arguing with a lot of people on this issue. Many say Collins cant suceed with the Titans. I dont see it that way. Let me explain something which most people are forgetting. VY sucks as a QB (funny thing to say while defending him against Cutler in another thread)
His recievers are not the best and VY had the added disadvantage of having absolutely no touch on his passes.
His ten yarders come in with way too much heat and normally hit the reciever too hard, too wide or too low. The reciever almost always cant get any YAC or catch the ball for that matter. The recievers do suck so they really need a QB with a better touch.
Collins does not need a 300 yard passing game to beat 90% of all teams in the league.
All Collins has to do is manage the game. He doesnt need to make any careless passes, or gamble on anything. He can be content chucking the ball 50 yards into the stands on 3rd and 1 and let the team punt.
Fellas, Collins is a much much better passer than VY. forget about it.
collins will survive the game and get the win..

Injury was a fake from the rumors i am hearing..
hno: The rumors wont stop.Its complete flood. NExt we shall be hearing that Vince young moved to canada and will be playing football there for the rest of the season.
If VY plays that game, would kinda get out of it...(ps..you guys should check out Cincy problems in the run game. Then check out Titans run game including Chris Johnson who got over 120 all purpose yards against a jacksonville defense far better than Cincy.

no he is not.. I just heard him on radio 20 hours ago talking about squashing heads in Cincy..
i will go check the wires.
(he played the game on sunday with a concussion and said he didnt remember most of it. but i never heard anything about him being benched)
