Ok. I obviously know ZILCH about football, in any form. My play for tonight is actually Clemson -44 and the +51/u62 teaser for a kind-of-a-6-point-middle, for the purpose of clearing the last tidbit of a bonus rollover.

If that's stupid still, I'd seriously like to know why. Again, me stupid Canadian, know nothing about pigskin.

NEVER confuse a winning play with a smart play - you made a STUPID play and while you somehow won this part of the teaser the play you made on temple was dumber than dumb and in the long run if you keep playing 10-point CFB teasers - especially on games with this kind of line - you won't have to worry about making any more bets - you won't have enough money to do so

1. The value of pts in college football are too low to make the teaser payout worthwhile. If a 2 team teaser pays 1 to 1, you must win each side 70.7% of the time (Square root of .5) - I am not explaining the math behind this - just trust me.

In the NFL pts are worth more and there are some subsets that are profitable. Send me a case of beer and I will discuss further. Or read SSB book.

There may be some college games this year with the time change that could be profitable - it is not proven yet and they would be low total games.

I have run teasers over college data and before this year - NO subset is profitable.

2. Games with high totals or huge spreads make pts less valuable. Wouldn't you rather tease a Bears/Jaguars game from +2.5 to +8.5 than a Clemson Temple game to -51?

3. Your bet was anti correlated. A big dog is correlated to the Under. A big favorite is correlated to the Over. If Clemson wins by 51, there is a damn good chance the game goes O 70. If the game stays under 70, there is a damn good chance that Temple covers 51.

If none of this makes sense, stick to straight bets.

thanks for the explanation sean. I wasn't sure about it as I don't know much about correlated bets. Not my thing, I don't get that deep into it. And I did not bet it after i saw the responses in the thread. Congrats on your wins tonight
