The General said:Ricky is a great coach. I would have loved to see how many titles he could have won in Ky had he not left.
letgetiton said:Why dont the refs T this guy up. Right there before this timeout and Illinois trying to inbound the ball, he is actually on the court 15 feet from the inbounds guy...Unreal!!!
butt-kiss said:Ricky is NO.1 in NCAA Ego's. You are right, he is a legend in his own mind. Consistently has the best players money can buy. The media loves this guy and the refs are intimidated by his reputation. Foul count 7-0 at one time in an NCAA semifinal game???...says it all. He will be back. Congrats to a regular guy like Bruce Weber!

Whether there was a talent difference or not, does not change my opinion about Pitino. Some experts voiced the opinion that the Cardinal guards were every bit as good as the Illinois' guards. (Their size and all etc. etc. etc.) The zone defense will always be a questionable strategy, versus a number 1 team, that shoots over 40% from three. If that athleticism, can't guard in a man defense, one has to ask why.
Illini said:Pitino is a winner and has a lot of class. I don't think it's an act, either. I really think he's genuine, and have a lot of respect for the guy.

Sometimes the truth is not popular to the general public. I too love Wooden's accomplishments, but there was stuff going on!!!!
