Although there are overlays in other various teasers, my main concentration for the majority of the time is done with NFL 2-teamers at shops where I can find the best numbers and odds possible.

Is a 10 point 3 team -110 teaser a smart play? I dont play teasers very often but when I do I do fairly well with the 10 points but usally get killed on the 6 pointers. Even when I do win a 6 pointer it would normally win in a parley which gives me a sick feeling knowing I could have had 13 to 5 odds by just playing a parley.

To me, any square could make money in the NFL betting teasers, if they only picked the huge favorites at home, teasing 6, 6.5, or 7 points. Very simple.....is this 9 point favorite at home going to win the game? Is this 8 point favorite at home going to win? 2 yes's, and it's a bet. And it wins more than it doesn't. I don't know how books make money on teasers, and I hope they stay around forever. But I guess some books in Vegas no longer offer them, so maybe it's only a matter of time. I hope the idiots keep teasing -3 to plus 3, so that they stay around.

I had a guy hit something like 15 in a row of these things against me last year. I posted a thread on it. it was amazing.

this year he is out of the gate slow 4-4, I charged -120 like most books. Im willing to keep them out there but they seem beatable.

If you would have 10 point teased NE and Pit last year with various third teams (Ind, Phi, SD), you would have made a killing. How many times would NE and Pit not have covered with the extra 10 points? I think once each (Pitt at Baltimore, NE at Pittsburgh).

Stick to the sharp numbers, pair early and late games, shop lines to middle back grabbing an extra half or full point. If you can't get the extra point use exchanges or reduced vig books to lower the cost of going for the middle and best yet use bonus $$ to play the middle.

One thing about teasers, it only takes one game to wipe out many teasers. For the books its either a bonanza or a killer. One week, you'll have a couple of upsets and all the teasers will go down in flames. The smart bookmakers know in the end they get most of the money.

And how about when NE lost outright down in Miami last year? How about those guys that used NE this past week in 21-point teasers and thought they were stealing?

Believe it or not, this IS the weekend to make your teaser plays. Taking teams that are slight underdogs by 3 points on the road (which technically tells you that they are the better team to begin with) and then teasing them up across key numbers such as 4, 6, 7, and on 10 or better. That's what the "sharp" teaser player does!

The sharp teaser player crosses 3 & 7. Anything but those numbers, the better does not have the best of it.

I don't think so. If you like the 3 point dog take the 3 or buy to 3.5. No need for the 10. Too many games decided by more than 10 when you expect it to be tight.

I believe buying off of 3 is worth 16 cents, most books charge 25 cents.

Wouldn't want to pay that. I just use Pinnacle if it's a decent price. I personally don't buy points hardly ever. Just not much into teasing to 7-10. Give me less than 3 anyday, and over 14 every now and then. Never tease college or totals.
That's what ignorant posters and players play. I'm still waiting for my limo ride from poster...ignorant.

No doubt. Likewise there is no doubt that they can be very valuable weapons for the disciplined bettor. Anybody that makes the blanket statement that football teasers are nothing but a sucker play are flat out wrong, and I have seasons worth of records to prove it.

ah finally the voice of reason............

The huge majority of teaser bets are TREMENDOUS SUCKER bets, but on the otherside of the coin, there are a few that are TREMENDOUS OVERLAY plays for the shrewd wiseguy.

Can't state it any simpler than that.

I Would Like To Thank Fish For This Observation
Maybe At This Point The Poster Named Shack Will Refrain From Repeatedly Calling Me Ignorant.
Right Or Wrong Everyone Is Entitled To Their Opinions On Teaser Bets.
I Originally Stated That Most Experts Will Tell You That Teasers Are A Losing Proposition. I Never Stated Or Implied That People Who Played Them Are Stupid Or Ignorant. I Applaud The Bettors Who Have Made Money On These Props And Wish I Was One. How One Choses To Play Is Their Own Business
As More People Reply To This Post Pehaps My Original Observations Were Not As Stupid Or Ignorant As One Poster Implied. I Am Glad The Moderator Finally Got Involved In This Issue
Thank You
