800 million just does not go very far these days...

IMO...SCREW TBS...

They overpaid to get the "exclusive rights" for the NL/AL DS and the NLCS...so no one should feel sorry for 'em. Sure a majority of the country has cable/dish/...etc...but some of the older generation baseball fans do not...and so :finger: TBS for overpaying...in order to send those oldtimers (in local markets) out to a watering hole...

I hate when guys rip network executives for stuff like this

Why not yell at HBO for making old men leave their house to watch Sopranos?

Apples and Oranges...

MLB has ALWAYS had local markets receive the playoff broadcasts on free TV...until now...

The Sopranos was NEVER on free TV...and there is no "local" market for this show...would have a hard time imaging a guy in Montvale arguing that he should get to watch that show for free...lol.

My point is blame Bud Selig not TBS

TBS is in the market to gain eyeballs, if they could get every NFL game would you blame them too?

They got the Baseball package and Kudos to them, but Selig is the one people should be mad at for going Cable as opposed to broadcast television

Couple things...

First, TNT used to have Sunday night football back in the day...Pat Haden was really something in the booth...:missingte
Also, they do not have the cash to get the Sunday Ticket...

Second, I do not care about Cable vs Free TV in a general sense...but when you do what TBS did here...which is tell the fans in Boston, Chicago, Philly, etc...that do not have cable/dishes...that they will ...for the 1st TIME not get to sit at home and watch their home team in the playoffs is asinine. But that is why TBS had to overpay. Their choice if they want to lose money...

But at the very least...I mean at the Minimum...they should have a studio show that was somewhat watchable. Their little circus is the worst pregame show I have ever seen...Hell they should use Barkley in there...

How that network TBS/TNT can have a tremendous NBA studio show...and then put this BS out there is embarrassing for them. I quit watching after Friday's laugh-fest.

Ok i see you are mostly complaining about the studio now, i have no interest ever in a studio show unless its football or Barkley is there thats it

I feel bad for the 70 year old Red Sox fan...Rockies fan...Indians fan...etc... that is living on a fixed income...

Cannot afford cable...because of his overpriced pharmaceuticals...or whatever...

And when the Red Sox used to be on cable during the playoffs...well he was able to watch 'em at home...because ESPN allowed fans in their local markets to get those games for free...

This year he had to go to a bar.

Just how I feel about it.

Baseball has some oldtimer fans...and I think its BS.

Chuck would be like, the Yankees Suck, Arod Sucks, this series is over period.

He would be better than anything they have in there now...

Thomas has no opinion...

Ripken is talking about last week...

Ernie is excited about Kobe and if he asked to be traded yet at Lakers camp.

Hard to say that TBS is getting screwed when this is what they are offering baseball fans...

Thankfully they will be forced to stop after the NLCS.

i mean dont put on ernie johnson, craig sager, dick stockton, etc. these guys are nba guys, like i said they don't sound right in a baseball enviroment and it doesn't seem like they are too pleased doing this.
Actually Stockton was one of the lead baseball guys on CBS when that network had hardball in 1989.

i always get ron darling, keith hernandez, and a third guy that's definitely not him on fsn. Ted's done it a couple times but i've never seen him full time. I only hear Howie on the radio for WFAN also.

Gary Cohen is the play by play guy on FSN for the Mets. I actually like listening to Darling and Hernandez. Hernandez doesn't pull any punches and is good for having to apologize about something at least once a year.

Robinson is the Mets play by play guy when they are on local TV.

Stockton is versatile in my opinion...I think he does good anouncing for the NFL,NBA and Bases as well...The rest are alright...Curtis Granderson saturday night came off intelligent and seemed sharp in the studio...Unlike Frank who seems to be a little dazed so far...Ripken is decent speaking...
