Tap water in Santa Ana poison?

Today for the second time this week, I woke up in intense abdominal pains. I went to CIMA the other day for this and after a bunch of testing it was attributed to an intestinal virus causing them to swell and cause the pain, not unlike colitis.

After the IV/meds they gave me I seemed fine, that is until this morning. Same symptoms exactly.

While it still could be a virus, I decided to look at what factors have been different for me lately as I've always had a very strong immune system and no history of stomach problems (nor any in my family).

I have been trying to drink a lot more water lately, and I have always drank tap water. At my new place in Santa Ana (been there about 6 weeks now) the water comes out white, which according to the folks around here is normal as it's infused with chlorine and after a few moments it turns clear.

In my googling, I found that chlorine in water can lead to intestinal diseases/viruses/conditions, for example as stated here:

Chlorine
Chlorine is added to water to kill certain bacteria. This chemical can be inhaled in gas form and absorbed through the skin and therefore presents a danger even if you're present in the room with it, to say nothing of drinking it. Once in the human body, it bonds with other compounds to form Trihalomethanes (THMs). These byproducts trigger the production of free radicals in the body and cause serious cell damage. In one research study, chlorine and chloramine was added to rats' water supply and as a result the rats developed tumors in the liver kidneys and intestines. Even after this study which shows some of the dangers possible, the government continues to provide chlorinated drinking water to the public.

Thus, my logical conclusion is this cannot all be coincidence and the water is poison.

I will try not drinking it anymore and see if I get any relapses of this pain heh.

my two (probably useless) cents

you do NOT get viruses because of this (That part is for sure)

"In one research study, chlorine and chloramine was added to rats' water supply and as a result the rats developed tumors in the liver kidneys and intestines" the problem with those studies ....is that they are similar to the studies that show that sacarine leads to cancer.

They take rats.....then they feed them concentrations order of magnitude higher than the ones that a human would be exposed to and then they say "this can cause cancer".

I can probably come up with a study that says that "if you spend 20 hours a day standing up.....you may develop 'x' type of cancer"

Also, you cant stop drinking water....and you have no control over what has happened to whatever source of water you use. For instance.....the water from beer may have other types of dangers, similar or even worse than normal water (I don't believe that and therefore I drink more beer than water LOL)

The logical conclusion is more like this

"use of chlorinated water is 99.99% safe, it does not increase the likelihood that you will get viruses but in turn is exactly the opposite and anything in extremely high concentrations can probably kill you"

Obviously I won't stop water, just will stop tap water - I know most bottled water isn't much better or in some cases it's the same, however it is not normal that water only comes out of the tap pure white. In San Pedro my tap water was clear...

Thus that could mean the dose it too high in this area, which then could cause problems.

now with that I totally agree (including tap water= bottled water), I know someone who used to work in one of those companies and he simply said that when they needed to increase production......just open the pipe and normal water it is

Another thing is that in some cases, spring water can have higher concentration of calcium etc....which may lead to increase risk of forming kidney stones

perhaps you could install a filter designed specifically for chroline removal?

Yeah I will investigate filtering and see what solid options there are.

your water comes out white? like milky white? wtf

Yeah, I thought it is really weird (it's not like when you have air in the pipes, it ALWAYS comes out solid white color). Then after a few moments it dissipates into clear in the glass or cup or whatever.

The neighbors all say that's fine that's how it is for all of them too though - so I think it must be this area is getting way too much chlorine.

It was reported about 30 days ago that the water in Escaszu was polluted. This was the second consecutive time the water quality testing failed. I think its important to drink quality filtered water or bottled water.
