Im sure the lines would likely be inflated and teams might rest key players in those situations. I know the spurs are good at resting stars as the season gets deeper. Also, in the strike shortened season this very thing did happen, and I don't think it turned out so well for the teams that had to travel and squeeze in so many games in a short time.
