The wife will like Gran Torino much more than Taken.

Taken is action the Clint movie is a tear jerker but not a chick flick per say.

Both great flicks, can't go wrong either way.

If you want more of a thriller, go with "Taken." If you want
more of a character study, go with "Gran Torino."

if you want to be 'in the mood' after the film, see taken... going to see grand torino would be similiar to the time i took a girl to 'leaving las vegas' on our first date back in high school. oops.
