I only bet the coin toss once, in 2001 (I ad only been betting for a year or so) -- I bet heads and won. I ended up having a great day for a 21-year old: $50 on the coin toss, $50 on NE +13 $75 on moneyline +400 and an action reverse, $25 on Pats and UNDER +100.

I won 500 -- a big deal for me at the time, even though my local had a bad line since I was living in Boston so the locals had shaded the line to account for the all the Pats money. I bet many bookies went out of business in Boston after the 2001 SB -- that moneyline must've killed em.

It would be interesting to know what kind of a "coin" they use for the toss........Could it be "rigged or cast to favor a head or a tail.....Sort of like "crooked Dice" that have been "loaded" etc. With all that money being bet on something as stupid as a "coin-toss", I'm sure some one has thought about-it. The NFL let deflated footballs slip through the "cracks", why not a phony coin ?
