First of all, its going to be one of my picks for week 1 at Minny -7. HOWEVER,
lets just talk about it a bit and see if we can find any way that Minny doesnt cover one touchdown against a disaster of a syracuse team.

Strange things and weird bounces often happen in games but strictly evaluating the teams Minn giving a touchdown or less is a great bet. Things like too many turnovers by Minn could keep Syr in this game.

I remember seeing almost this exact same scenerio last year when OSU went to Wash. St. We all knew from our talks here during the summer that WSU was in a big mess and with a first year coach with an uphill battle just like Cuse, while an unproven OSU team coming off a 6-6 season with a weak defense was going on the road and laying a TD. Literally everybody here knew and predicted what was going to happen. And it did. Fellas...It doesn't mean the general public is as aware of this situation as we are. That's one reason why this line hasn't gotten totally out of hand and probably won't.

You can't get overly concerned with a side where "Everybody is on" or the idea that it is a "Public" play. Minnesota is clearly the better team and the right side. Sure, Paulus could be the second coming of Joe Nameth. Highly unlikely, however.

Why would you say a team that was 5-1 ATS last year on the road is not a good road team? Granted they were not favorites in many games, but I would not say they are not a good road team.

Anytime you have players walking off the team that is a huge distraction and one that the team might not recover from for the first couple of games.

sometimes with a new coach, players walk off and leave because the coach doesnt want them there anymore. he wants his own players.

but THAT many people walking off is big

Unless you count the Insight Bowl, which was a "neutral field" game that they lost ATS.

Paulus was named the starter after only 2 workouts with the team. Only reason they made him the starter is get people to come to their games and give Syracuse any beacon of hope. They were a terrible team last year and will continue this season.
