Ytd record is 42-22 after that big Oregon win on Tuesday night. I am so pumped for Thursday that I am going to post tonight.
Uconn -9, This team is starting to show that they are the cream of the crop in the tournament. Vanderbilt will have a really difficult time matching up with Okafor and Gordon is starting to play like an all-american. The Uconn depth is not just high quality, its also quantity. Villanueava is healthy and was projected as a first round pick last year. Boone is no longer a Freshman, he is a sophmore and a man inside. Hilton Armstrong can run, block shots, defend, and score a little. With this depth Freije will wear down. Denham Brown has found his shot and Rashad Anderson has been phenomenal. Uconn is also wracheting things up on the defensive end and seems to be able to come up with stops whenever they feel like it. Vandy was lucky to get by the Wolfpack, they will need a frigging leprechan and four leaf clover shorts to beat Uconn.
St. Joe's -2.5, This is going to be a great game. Both of these teams rely on the perimeter game which will benefit St.Joe's. I see St.Joe's only flaw being weakness in the post and Wake will not be able to exploit that. Eric Williams has a ton of talent but who knows when he is going to show up to play. It also seems like when Paul has a big game, Gray does not. For St. Joe's West and Nelson put up great stats every night, they are the best backcourt in the nation bar none. Nelson will show Paul that a Senior is more valuable in big games like this than a Freshman is. Look for Pat Carroll to get off early and often. When he is on this team is tough to defend on the perimeter. Chris Paul is clearly Wake's best player, however one of the best defenders in all college basketball Tyrone Barley will be hawking him for a good portion of the night. Martelli will be able to shove Billy Packer's statement that St.Joe's does not deserve a one seed, and would lose to Tex. Tech or Wake if they met. Packer will be calling this game and you can believe that Packer's statement made it into the Hawks locker room. They will be sky high. -freakout
