not defending Sveum , the third base coaching job in Fenway Park is the most difficult in baseball...its not nearly as difficult in 95% of the other MLB parks.

A variety of reasons..............

1. Short left field wall, making for tougher decisions on singles hit there with a man on 2nd.

2. Being a park condusive to offense, puts more pressure on a 3rd base coach(so does a park that is just the complete opposite).

3. Lots of balls hit to death valley in center and right-center with a ton of nooks and crannies making a 3b coach's job tough to see where the ball actually is.

You Boston people get more delusional all the time...I thought winning the Series last year would end that. You guys honestly feel like the 3rd base coach was a cause for them losing in the playoffs this year??

My first view of Fenway Park was as a 13 year-old walking up the tunnell along the 3b line halfway between homeplate and the monstor.

Seeing the wall for that first time was an unforgetable experience, as it literally jumps out at you.
