The suspect in this morning’s robbery at Publix in Fort Myers forgot to put in her teeth before robbing the store.
The suspect, a middle-aged woman wearing a trench coat and oversized sunglasses, held her hand over her mouth as she approached the customer service desk to buy a candy bar, according to a Fort Myers Police Department release. Police responded to the Publix at 4600 Summerlin Road at 8:25 a.m.
“I forgot to put my teeth in today,” the suspect told the clerk, according to the release.
The woman gave the clerk a note that demanded money and implied she had a weapon.
She then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash in a silver sedan – possibly a Mitsubishi.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call FMPD at 321-7700, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS or text message C-R-I-M-E-S (274637) keyword FMPD. Tipsters can remain anonymous. You may be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for a tip that leads to an arrest.
