Would like to get some opinions on this (Especially from the "Professional money" guys):
Okay, was reading this covers article about the Super Bowl line
Sports Betting and Gambling Odds Online
And from the way these oddsmakers are talking, it's pretty much what I figure. "Sharps' hitting the line early, "Public" waiting until gameday (blah, blah, blah)
Okay, here is where I'm confused, the quote below from sportsinteractions oddsmaker:
Francis Doyle: The line was set high initially on the basis that squares would eat up the chalk. This has not happened, and the Giants are proving quite a popular pick. Even the general sports media are giving the Giants far more of a chance than they gave the Patriots themselves against the Rams six years ago. People believe in the Giants. So far.
OKAY.
If these guys know that the professional cappers are gonna hit the number early, and the public waits until Saturday or Sunday, how does the above quote makes sense????
Did the oddsmakers think the early "professional" money would also go to the Patriots side, or is this guy just clueless and doesn't know what he's talking about???
AND
How much has the Brady injury talk affected the line?? Would NE be up to a 2 TD Favorite or more if he was 100 % healthy???
