Anyone have the results for the past Super Bowls? I swear I've won on Tails the past 10 years or so. The only I lost that I can remember is the Oakland/Tampa game where heads turned up.

Philly/NE game was Heads, I remember this cause I took tails and the kid who tossed it litterally tossed it up maybe a foot in the air and didn't look like it had any spin to it what so ever. BUT coins are supposed to be heavier on the heads side which you would think would make it more likely to land tails up

Does anyone think they do the coin toss before the players even get on the field?

Seriously... Every single home game I've gone to for the Cardinals or Packers.. Who ever is out on the field first they will announce that starting unit..

If Anquan, Warner, and Fitz get announced as the starting lineup at Cardinal Stadium it's a 100 percent guarantee that the Cards will get the ball.

Same with the Packers.

Really? (Sarcasm)

I realize this... I truly think that is a coin toss for SHOW.

Let me give you a breakdown of the situation...
-You're at the Cardinals home game--they announce the starting lineup (it's either offense or defense NEVER both). If the offense is announced they will ALWAYS receive the ball.
-Same thing at the Packers home games. They announce the starting lineup of the unit that will be on the field FIRST. If the defense is on the field first they will announce the defense coming out of the tunnel (before the coin toss ever occurs)

Which leads me to think they do the coin toss before the players are all on the field. There is no way they can guess 100 percent every time. And they DEFINITELY do not switch off calling the different unit every other game.

Coin Toss

  1. The toss of coin will take place within three minutes of kickoff in center of field. The toss will be called by the visiting captain before the coin is flipped. The winner may choose one of two privileges and the loser gets the other:
    (a) Receive or kick
    (b) Goal his team will defend
Immediately prior to the start of the second half, the captains of both teams must inform the officials of their respective choices. The loser of the original coin toss gets first choice.

Why on Earth would anybody lay -110 (sometimes -115) on a coin flip is beyond me.
First off you have to have rocks in your head to lay 10 or 15 cents on a 50/50 proposition, second off, you can't handicap a coin toss.
It's a guess for the love of God, a guess!
I guess there are people that have a desperate need for action.

Bodog has the toss at -105. Obviously it's never a wise investment to bet on a coin toss, but what the hell it's the SuperBowl! Ya gotta make a few stupid prop bets.

What's always bothered me is that most other prop bets are listed at -115 on both sides even when the event effectively 50/50. I hate paying that bit of extra juice and I've never understood why most sites do that.

Maybe its because the SB is once a year and some of us like to play these silly props once in awhile. It's not like People bet the mortgage or anything. Just something small and it takes a couple seconds to find out if you win or not. So get off your soapbox and pick a side! Heads or tails? I gaurantee you'll no know what wins now. Have some fun.

A friend and i bet the coin toss every year. It is tradition. I took heads again this year. He won last year with tails. 50 bucks even . It is a running joke between me and the boys. As soon as the coin lands i get 20 texts and phone calls. Either laughing or saying i suck.

10 out of the last 11 years tails has hit.
you ask why someone would wager on the coin flip? Its just as good of odds as any other bet? In fact...this way you cannot have a push, so it benefits you. 50/50. Bookies also love this action in a classic example of books just looking to make juice. But to say that this is a silly bet is ignorant on your part. I also want to know what games you are gambling on where the odds are greater than 50/50 a team will cover?
