New day and new dollars to be made. Lets try to get back on track today.
Ohio St +6 -This game is a game between a premier offense and premier defense. The only problem is Indiana who is the premier offense just lost their star player for the season. So the stats that put them atop the country on offense, are now skewed. They still have some good players do not get me wrong. I like Ferrell a lot, and Bryant is also good. However, in a game where you have two of the upper echelon teams Big10 going against each other I just don't see it being a blowout. Especially now that Blackmon Jr. is out for the season. Ohio St sits at 22nd in the country for ppg allowed at 63.1 and at 13th in the country for fg% allowed at 37.6%. Indiana is 8th, 1st and 3rd in the country for ppg and shooting stats but again this was with Blackmon Jr. who averaged 15.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 1.7 apg. Filling that void will be very difficult and while Indiana has won its two games since losing Blackmon it came against Nebraska that has a defense that doesn't rank inside the top 100 in any shooting category. The next game they won against Wisconsin at home but they barely squeezed by with a 1 point victory, and guess what Wisconsin sits at 30th in the country for ppg allowed. Wisconsin was also by no mean an offensive team at 273rd in the country scoring and 261st for fg%. So coming into this game I think Ohio St has a really good chance to compete. This is a big conference game and should be close either way it goes. Ohio St has not lost in almost a month and are figuring out who they are. Of the 5 times that Ohio St did lose they only lost by more than 6 twice, and one of those losses was by 8 so not far off. I just don't think that Indiana has truly been tested enough without their star player yet and are going to be tested today by a young team that is finding its rhythm and stout on defense. I don't like being on the same side as majority of public but the line is dropping so that makes me feel slightly better. Give me the dog in a game I think they could find a way to win outright.
Good Luck guys!
