Explanations:
*This is easily my UNDERDOG PLAY OF THE DAY!! I love this Lowry kid the G-men have throwing tonight. He's coming off an outstanding performance his last outing where he looked unhittable at times with that change up going fooling the hitters left and right. I know it was against the pathetic Reds, but they do have some quality hitters in that lineup and he made them look foolish that night. In Lowry's last 25.2IP he's only given up 3ER!!! That's awsome!! I feel this game will be close tight game throughout with Wood going for the Cubs, but the Giants will pull this out late somehow. The bullpen makes me a little nervous, but I feel the momentum that Lowry gave this team his last time out will carry over and the Giants will win with him on the mound. Oh and taking both series this year from your previous manager would be SWEET!!! G-men end this homestand with a win and finally win a series on this homestand!!*
*Wakefield has a winning career record against the Tigers and having the Red Sox as a DOG is a gift! The Tigers are 1-5 L/6 and are 1-3 overall in Robertson's L/4 starts. Hitters are hitting just .222 against Wakefield on the road. Good value with the Sox today.*
*I hate going against the mighty Yanks at home, but I'm gonna win one of these when I do. Today looks very promising with Batista throwing for the B.Jays. In his last 27IP he's only given up 5ER in that span. Not bad. Hitters are just hitting .220 off him on the road and the Jays are 3-1 overall in his L/4 starts. The Yanks are 1-3 in Leiber's L/4. Leiber has just not been pitching well giving up 34H in his last 22.5IP and hitters are hitting .311 off him at home. Hopefully the Jays can get the offense going today as we all know the Yanks will be up for that as well...worth a shot here in my opinion.*
*What a turn around for Ponson this season. He's actually been pitching pretty good lately and the Orioles have been winning games when he starts as they're 4-0 his L/4. The Gambler has been getting knocked around lately giving up 35H in his last 23.6IP. I might add that Ponson is 6-1 lifetime against the Rangers. Orioles don't have a good OBP against lefties, but I feel they score enough to get the job done today and win another one with Ponson on the hill.*
*The Mets...yes the Mets. It's all about league leading ERA leader Al Leiter today. In his last 24IP he's given up only 3ER!! Very good! Hitters are just hitting .183 against him on the road which is outstanding. He has a winning career record against the Cards and the Mets are in dire need of wins right now. As we all know the Cards offense could light anyone up at anytime, but if the Mets are going to win a game in this series, this is it. Marquis is coming off a rough outing his last time out, so the Mets will catch him at a good time. Gonna be close, but feel value is there.*
*This could be a repeat of yesterday as both teams should score off the other's pitcher today quite easily. Lidle has just been downright awful giving up 20ER in his last 21.2 IP and 35H given up. Fassero has been pitching well as of late, but I'm not sold on him yet. Hitters are hitting .349 off him at Coors field, but the Rocks are 3-1 overall in his last 4 starts and the Reds just find ways to lose lately. Lidle is SO overdue to pitch a decent game...hopefully not today. Rockies just have too much when they are at home, especially against righties.*
*The Dodger blue came through last night for me as a 2* play!! I like them again today with newcomer Penny on the hill. Penny's been pitching great ball lately...24IP/5ER/18H his L/4!!! The Phillies are just 1-3 overall when Myers takes the hill. After getting SWEPT in Philly earlier this year, the Dodgers will win this series with a win today! LA is having a special year this season, especially at home where they hit the ball VERY well!*
*Finally, the Braves!! They just have too much for a D'Back team really playing the season out going through the motions. Ortiz has been on fire lately!!! 29.2IP/5ER in his L/4 starts while the Braves have gone 3-1 overall in that span!! His career numbers against the D'backs aren't that good, but then again this is the worst D'Back team they've had since entering MLB. Fossum has been pitching better after going through a tough stretch, but just too much ATL today. In Ortiz's L/3 starts the final score has been decided by one run. I severly dought that can go to 4 games, so the runline is the play for me.*
