Brutal Saturday, 2-3, - about 7 units. Can't believe Gausman out pitched Sonny Gray. And that Shelby Miller shut out the Jays. Maybe these two teams are starting to cool down. Has to happen in baseball.

Still… going with:

Oakland -1 (-106) 2 units. Ubaldo has been plagued with control issues and walks, and the A's are one of the best at taking bases on balls. He is wildly inconsistent unlike Kazmir. Kazmir has been able to pitch a quality start every outing this year except one. Kazmir and the A's bullpen will keep them in this game, which I can't say for Ubaldo and the O's bullpen. Oakland is due for a high scoring game.

Miami ML -109. One unit. This play says Jake Arrieta's stats finally catch up to him. He has been lucky, leaving many men on base, a .300 BAA, and too much nibbling which has led to a poor walk to IP ratio. Alvarez is hit or miss, but lately has been pitching well. He is working on a scoreless streak exceeding 20 IPs. I am biased to guys like this who pitch to weak contact and induce ground balls. Miami can also break out offensively.

Arizona ML -107. One unit. Chase Anderson keeps showing his great stuff and poise for the D-Backs. He had a very strong outing in Coors and right now looks like a top of the rotation starter. Aaron Harang has been pitching very well for the Braves, but he has an expiration date. Harang cannot keep it up based on the stuff that almost got him waived out of the league. Arizona is hitting finally and showing some much needed power.

Washington ML -123. One unit. Jordan Zimmerman has not pitched much better than Eric Stults, who has been very mediocre. But the Nats are just hitting THAT much better than the Padres. The Padres are also statistically the worst hitting daytime team in the mlb. The Padres are hitting just .163 in the past week. The Nats .286 with 25 extra base hits. Both have solid BPs.

Cinn. -1 (-101) One unit. Homer Bailey is slowly showing his better stuff. Each outing looks a little better. I think I also am willing to play this because Buchanan has looked so pedestrian. He doesn't have a + pitch in the majors, and has to be super fine with his command. Also, another play that says the Phillies are just a team that will continue to underachieve, and not even care about it. Reds have the BP edge.

Minnesota ML -116. One unit. A momentum pick on the Twins. Deduno has been an effective ground ball pitcher who has control issues, but limits runs well. Mchugh has been very good this year, but he is also due for some regression. As the year goes on, he'll be a bit less effective now that hitters know what he does well and doesn't do well. Twins BP has the edge. Also like the Twins being at home on a Sunday afternoon.
