THE IRON FURNACE - Got an unlucky trip his 1st time out. Hitting the track today, should do better if he stays out of trouble. This gelding has been claimed each of his last two starts. He figures to be tough in today's contest.

MARIJA'S WISH - This mare is in fine condition. Ran first on Mar 23rd. A wise man taught me to wager on the lone speed horse. Take a look at this horse. You'll be generating money right and left by turning your gambling cash onto this rider/handler combination. That was a solid win last time out. In my opinion has a good chance to repeat today. Just view her last speed figure, 89. That one fits in this bunch. Recent Equibase speed figures show dominant pattern of improvement. DADDY APPROVES - Strong win pct this jockey and handler tandem have been putting together. I like to play this angle, a thoroughbred coming back off a solid outing within the last month or so.

HORSIN' AROUND - Could be tough for this racer to beat this field off of that last speed fig. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class rating, so put her on the vulnerable contenders list. PINAFRA - You believe this horse is going to win today just because she's always close. Just doesn't win regularly. Based on the pace scenario in this affair, this animal doesn't fit in here. With a single front-runner and this animal having to race from behind, she sure has a tough assignment. WEATHER PERMITTING - If you keep betting these sort of 'bridesmaid' types, you're going to be disappointed most every time. This mare raced surprisingly well on March 9th placing second, but hasn't even visited the track since then. Not really a good sign. Will probably be at the rear with much too much to do in the stretch.

D' KENNESAW CAT - Quite frequently, I play a maiden that finished runner up easily ahead of the show horse in her last effort. PP lines show this pony with 3 improving speed figs. Delgadillo should be on a live one right here in this race. CACTUS COWGIRL - Nations drops her down to this class. You don't need too much more information to believe this thoroughbred should have a chance to win at this level. It looks like Flores had to learn all about this filly on Nov 4th when riding her for the first time. Back on board again today. For my money, a bullet workout is the best indicator of fitness there is. Look at that last one - 47.6. Very impressive.

SASSY SPINSTER - Most likely won't make much of an impression in today's event. WILL DO - Can't invest in this racer in today's sprint of 5 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't even finished in the money in a short distance event lately. LEATHER PANTS - If she goes off near the M/L odds of 8/1, I'll have to pass.
