More about the Syracuse/St Johns game. As we all know, Jim Boeheim is now serving a suspension and won't be attending the game today. This does not have me worried in the least bit. Asst coach Mike Hopkins played under Boeheim, and has been his asst for 21 years. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that Hopkins knows Boeheim's system inside and out. Hopkins very well could be a head coach elsewhere, but chooses to be loyal to the Orange. He has the respect of the players and fans alike, and I see no downgrade with him serving as interim head coach.
St Johns is 6-3, but have beaten only awful teams. Chaminade, Niagra, UMBC, Rutgers, Wagner, and St Fran. Their best game was losing to Indiana by 10.
As stated in my thread last night, I'm going huge on this game. I have a very mediocre record so far this season, and have paid the bookie plenty of juice. I'm hoping to get back all of it this afternoon on this play. It's terrible bankroll management, but I feel that this game is worth a shot.
