7-Unit Play. Take #605. Seattle +2.5 vs Phoenix (Sunday @ 5:00p.m. est).
Let's make it a 12-1 Playoff Run Today. Make that 9 Winners in a Row in Baseball. Let's look to make it 10 in a row today with a 7*Selection (2;15pm) If you give a team that's facing elimination a lifeline, chances are they will take it. That's exactly what Phoenix did last game, blowing out Seattle by 20 points to extend their season. Unfortunately, that'll be for one more game as we expect Seattle to come out pissed off and ready to dominate from start to finish. Look, this is a Seattle team that is ranked first or second in all major offensive categories. They stunk it up last time out by posting just 66 points - that will not happen again. Seattle will be focused and ready to go in this one because they do not want to take the series back home for a Game 5, win or go home style game. Seattle has been the best team in the league throughout, so when the going gets tough the team usually rises up and dominates. Look, Phoenix had a good run and Taurasi will go down as an all-time great, but not even she can single handily carry this Mercury team to a spot in the final at the expense of the Storm. The Storm are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a SU loss and 12-3 in their last 15 following an ATS loss. The Storm are the better team and it'll come to the forefront tonight.

5-Unit Play. Take #217 Miami FL -3.5 over LSU (Sunday, September 2nd at 7:30 PM ET)

CFB Smash for Sunday night.

This pick falls into one of my top CFB systems and I have the Hurricanes winning this game by 10+ points Sunday night. The Hurricanes return 14 starts 7 on offense and 7 on defense including their quarterback while LSU returns just 10 starts with 5 on each side of the ball and not their starting quarterback from last season. This Canes team has never looked better and I expect them to get off to a quick start on both sides of the ball that will silence the crowd in Dallas. The Hurricanes were one of only 22 teams in all of college football to allow less than 20 ppg last year during the regular season and you can expect this defense to be hungry for the turnover chain again this season. The Canes are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games played during the month of September and the Tigers are just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against an ACC opponent. Play Miami FL ATS.

CHRIS JORDAN

I may not be playing the college football card tonight at a premium level, but my free pick is on the Under in the Miami-LSU game.

While the talk is of Miami quarterback Malik Rosier looking to make a statement in this season-opener, I'm more about the Hurricanes defense, and that LSU front line that will end up being the talk of this game.

Coming off its most successful season in a decade, No. 8 Miami has a very tough test to start the campaign, in No. 25 LSU, which some say shouldn't even be ranked. This is just as much of a statement game for the Tigers, as it is for Rosier and the Canes, who lost their final three games after a 10-0 start last season.

LSU allowed a mere 128 yards rushing per game to rank third in the SEC, and that defensive front expects to be special once again. Behing all-SEC junior linebacker Devin White, the Tigers' leading tackler last year with 133, the Tigers will apply plenty of pressure in Miami's backfield.

Meanwhile, Miami returns its top five tacklers from last season, which will make things tough on Ohio State grad transfer Joe Burrow, who gets his first college start in his LSU debut. Burrow appeared as a reserve in 10 games over two seasons with the Buckeyes, and now he's thrust into the spotlight - thrown into the fire is more like it - and will have his hands full against Miami's best defense since coach Mark Richt arrived.

Play this one low tonight.
