A man threatening to jump from a downtown casino parking garage prompted Metro Police to shut down part of a street as negotiators tried to talk him down, officials said.

Police responded to the D Hotel and Casino, 301 Fremont St., about 10:20 a.m. today, Officer Laura Meltzer said. Police were still negotiating with the man as of 11:30 a.m., she said.
The incident caused the closure of Carson Avenue between 3rd and 4th streets.
