I think the poster of the week contest was a great addition. If there is no sponsorship interest, maybe you can get some cool Rx shirts made (golf shirts better but T-shirts would work). Buy 50 shirts and you have a year-long contest. Mail one out to the best poster as voted by the mods each week. Ken has deep pockets, so he should be able to afford this

We spend too much time here trying to eliminate the bad posters...focusing on rewarding the best posters will improve the forum and encourage more intelligent posts. Also may get some lurkers out of the woodwork to share info.

Giving out shirts instead of matchplays, etc is free advertising for the RX. Assuming the shirts are decent looking, people will wear them out to bars, etc, attracting more people to the site.

What do you guys think?

And you can nominate this post as the first post of the week

You think I'm going to be sitting here like a loser posting all week in the hopes of being nominated poster of the week so I can get a lousy t shirt. Who the hell needs a t-shirt? I can go to Wal-Mart and buy a T-shirt there for $1.49.. I want to hear the winner getting cash.. Now you're talking.. Kenny is loaded.. He is made of money. I heard Kenny is worth in the vicinity of 12.7 million..And that's just what he has under the mattress. I want to see the poster of the week get at least a dime, or I'm out of the contest.

Plus, who the hell wants a t-shirt that says the Prescription on it. I wouldn't want to be seen with that in public. People will think I'm a degenerate gambler. It's not something I am proud of. Well, I guess if I won the t-shirt, at least I could have something to wash the floors with. I was going to buy a rag today at the discount store. Now all i got to do is win this, and I could save 2 bucks..

I'd like to suggest that "Poster of the Week" is renamed "The Don Marco Award for 'GOOD Poster of Week', eh?"

If we have this award lets have the "BS artist of the week" award, otherwise to be known as "Is it Rail or JJ this week award"

how about having some quotas?

you are limited to 10 "bad posts" a week.

if you exceed the quota you are banned until after Monday Night Football.

examples of "bad posts":

little league baseball b.s.

So Cal sports supremacy delusions

ghost lines

ghost syndicates

past posting of picks

past posting of wiseguy guy moves

past posting of anything

sky is falling posts

mentions of unfamiliar movie stars, crab dip, and paddle tennis even if they are somewhat correlated.

or maybe just make it simple and restrict posts that begin with the letters 'j' and 'j' or that rhyme with ail.

Let's not leave out anyone that says he has a posse of 20 following him around wherever he goes on his neighborhood watch duties. At first the posse conjured up visions of Mike Tyson with Team Tyson or even more Hammer and his posse of wannabe rappers. Then I thought a 5'4" guy that weighs about two banana splits under 300 pounds with a posse of 20? And this guy leads by setting a good example of pounding evil local bookies with incredible insight regarding little league games???

OMG, it turns out Gigli isn't the worst made up story to ever come out of Jersey!!!!

I like the idea DrunkGuy. We may even have some shirts left over from the party, will have to check with Angelle. I'll let you know what the verdict is.

BTW that big grin on my face has asolutely NOTHING to do with WildBill's post above.

Ok, I admit I didn't see it and just base that on what the 2,000 critics say about it. Still to think we could write a rather funny book on the antics of JJ and Rail. I am still laughing thinking about the 20-man posse. Just imagine 20 fat white guys confronting you in Barnes and Noble "now listen buddy if you don't put down the Penthouse I won't tell you who is going to win the 8-year championship basketball game tomorrow".
