offering this caveat before posting anything - ran into the book's haymaker last week. also made a play on a limp clemson team last night. first rough bump in whats been a very good season. still hate the lay the kind of egg i did this past week. that said, this weekend is probably one of the most appealing of the season so far. lots of games came off the page while breaking everything down. so take it fwiw - some strong plays for 10.11 ... unfortunately coming on the heels of a surprisingly bad saturday 10.4

early stuff for 10.11
all strong

michigan state minus points
buffalo minus points
texas under the total

posted these mini-notes on the games thursday night. will expand when i get a chance friday night.

buffalo
long travel for western michigan. not easy to do for the mid-majors during conference play. buffalo undervalued and still improving. tough schedule preps them for this game coming off the collegiate bye.

oklahoma under
sooners wont be putting nintendo stats up against a very good defense. brown vs. stoops generally a lot lower scoring than people expect.

michigan state
hard to believe in northwestern when they have faced 5 1-AA caliber offenses. spartans will present a challenge NU hasnt remotely faced.

I really like all 3 games Prodigy, especially the UT/OU under. 5 of the last 7 games between UT and OU have gone under...I am not a trend guy normally, but I see both defenses controlling this game.

BOL.

Northwestern is coming off a bye, and a home dog, that's a tough spot to go against them. GL.

what usually happens is texas and oklahoma hammer the shit out of their non-conference opponents and put up tons of points. everyone talks about the offenses. then when they meet in red river, its suddenly a shock to people that 'whoa, these defenses are pretty friggin good too'. happens often. in this case, the texas defense is totally flying under the radar. theyre a damn good unit.

I'm with you on spartans. No way Northwestern can beat them. Will not happen. Interesting pick with Buffalo. That's a pick that I'm going to think about. Sounds good.

Yikes!!!! Horns and Sooners nearly went over the total at halftime. Lets hope for a defensive struggle in the 2nd half.
