What part of 'peaceful' don't they understand?
Are you an angry young man who wants to destroy a few cop cars in the name of "social justice?" Do you feel like you have a right to address possible injustice by setting fire to someone else’s home or business? Do you believe that assaulting random pedestrians on the street with a knife or your fists is an acceptable way to "be heard?"
Well, if you answered "yes" top any of those questions, congratulations. Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake wants you to know that Baltimore is for you.
According to the mayor, the Baltimore police will engage in a delicate balancing act that protects your right to free speech, and gives you the "space" you need to attack strangers and destroy their property.
"I’ve made it very clear that I work with the police, and instructed them to do everything that they could to make sure that the protesters could exercise their right to free speech.
It’s a very delicate balancing act because while we tried to make sure they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we gave those who wished to destroy space to do that, as well. And we worked very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to deescalate. And that’s what you saw."
If that quote wasn't a dead giveaway, Rawlings-Blake is far left progressive. She came to power after her predecessor, Sheila Dixon, was indicted on embezzlement charges. Before that, Baltimore's train wreck was overseen by Martin O'Malley - who it appears would very much like Democrats to elect him President so he can apply his skillset at the national level .
Remember: If you're looking for a city in which you'll be given the "space" to run rampant, Baltimore is calling your name. It's had a series of left-wing mayors who've run it with all the grace, style, and success that liberal politicians have displayed in towns like Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, St. Louis, and L.A.
