Pirates won last night in the bottom of the ninth 7-6. I was listening to the game and here is how it ended:
Tie score 6-6 - Pirates have bases loaded, 1 out, bottom of ninth. Pirate batter, Paulino, hits a drive to right center over everyone's head, that bounces over the wall. Normally this is a ground rule double and 2 runs would score, right? Except Paulino gets to first base and then runs to the dugout - credited with only a single and only one run scores!
Saw this happen once before with a walk off homer with a man on, batter got mobbed after third base, never touched home, credited with a triple and only one run scored.
Maybe it only matter to run line bettors.
