Comedian Dave Chappelle has been chosen to receive this year's Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
Since 1998, the illustrious prize has been handed out annually to a US comedian who has had an 'indelible impact on American society' in ways similar to the beloved 19th century novelist.
Chapelle, 45, will receive the award at a star-studded event to be held at the Kennedy Center For Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on October 29.

I was a fool back then and thought that he was going to bring people together....I thought he would be seen as as inspiration to say "he anyone can be successful", but instead he did quite the opposite
