Phil Steele, the desperate headline hunter has once again proven just how desperate he is. He has named USC QB Cody Kessler his #1 Pre-Season All American QB in 2015, ahead of Heisman favorite Trevone Boykin of TCU, Dak Prescott of Miss. State, and Connor Cook of Michigan State. Now IF Boykin was playing in a decent Conference like the Pac 12, I could see him finishing behind Kessler, but he is not. Instead, he is playing in the Mickey Mouse Big 12 (-2) for a team that has no real competition in non-con games. Being a USC fan, I am hoping that Steele is right, but knowing college football, I know that he is wrong. The only way Kessler beats out Boykin is if USC finishes with a comparable record to TCU, and that is a tall order. Look who the two teams play. USC gets Notre Dame, the Pac 12 South, Oregon on the road, and Stanford. TCU gets the Big 12-2.

Going for the trifecta; a homer-plug, your daily dis on the big 12, and the holy grail of them all, taking a shot at the most accurate mag on the market.

I see things haven't changed a bit here since I've been away. This board is so enriched by his presence..

Do you enjoy listening to yourself ramble incessantly big daddy? I'm asking a serious question.... I understand you're just as excited as the rest of us about the upcoming season, but starting 2-3 incoherent threads per day is the equivalent to Russ starting his "in game max bet, GOY" threads and being 30 of the 33 total comments.... I read these to threads to see what other members have to say about you....the responses are fabulous

Everything is personal with BigDaddy. He's the one who needs to be the bearer of bad news. That's where he gets his jolly's, and he wants everybody to see it. Why is this all personal to you BigDaddy? Why do you start new threads with news like LSU players being in trouble or Nebraksa losing a couple players when you could just as easily have put it in the Spring News & Notes thread? We all know why, we just want to hear you say it...

I would like to know how arguing about this conference vs that conference puts money in your pocket. Really. Who cares, that is all about personal prejudices etc but when you run other conference down to raise yours up it is totally classless. USC plays at Arizona St, at Notre dame, at Cal, at Oregon, and all UCLA has to do is drive across town. So USC has their work cut out to say the least. Power to them if they win, too bad if they don't but I only root for the teams I bet on each week.

Only thing missing is a anti Oregon rant for the superfecta.

Coincidentally there is a strong chance TCU and USC will meet in the Alamo or Cactus Bowl.

All I did was to comment on what I feel is a very stupid article by a phony who is famous for playing both ends against the middle. At this point in time, do any of you people really believe that Cody has a better chance of winning the Heisman than Trevone Boykin? A simple yes or no will do it, or is that too much to ask out of you.

The Cactus Bowl gets the Big 12 #6 team. Do you really think that TCU is that bad? As far as the Fiesta Bowl goes, The ONLY way for a Pac 12 team to get there is if the Pac 12 Champ does NOT go to the Playoff. I just cannot see a Pac 12 Champ in the Playoff, the 2nd place team in the Rose Bowl and the #3 team in the Fiesta Bowl, which is reserved for Boise State, if they make it again as the little 5 champs.

Phil Steele is HANDS DOWN the best in the business....no better single source for information on the web. Sure, he may print something you don't like....doesn't mean he's still not the best in the business. If you can't recognize that you should stay away from sports betting.

I can see TCU as the Oklahoma from last year. A strong showing in a BCS/NYS game against an SEC team will cause overinflated preseason hype and the team puts up an average year. Don't forget, this TCU team gave up over 60 to Baylor and barely survived Kansas. Two years ago TCU went 4-8. I would not be surprised with an 8-4 season.

I will not disagree with you, but 8-4 could be a 3rd to 5th place finish in the Big 12-2, NOT a 6th place finish. The Big 12-2 is not close to the SEC or PAC 12. Remember after their candy coated non-con schedule (22-8 at the worst), they must play each other. Do the math. If the rag writers are correct, then Baylor and TCU lose one game between them. That means that the #3 team will lose at least 2, the #4 team will lose at least 3, and the #5 team will lose at least 4. Bingo, 8-4 finishes in 5th. Not 6th. Now add on top that the fact that if a Big 12 team gets into the playoff, you can move everyone else up a notch, there is no way that TCU plays in the Cactus Bowl. Remember, OU and Texas will probably end up in that 3 thru 6 mess, and both of them (especially Texas) stand a good chance to lose a non-con game. TCU does not end up in the Cactus Bowl. They are a better team than that, though they could be a good fade early in the season.
