They see a vulnerable spread and pounce on it with big numbers. Sometimes the smart money can come in late, when the sharps know a line will move in their favor throughout the week by wagering from the general betting public."

On one hand, you’d get a better number betting it, but there is always something a little unsettling about being on the opposite side of the smart social betting. You know!! I did not say wise guys & whales and sharps.

Why do you think most wise guys & whales and sharps I know do not bet the 1st week of NFL and wait until 2nd week to bet. They wait for stats,[ Not pre-season]& looking at line money movements[ following the money lines] also after the 1st week. Well where is the steam on Money Line Movements 1st week of NFL??? None !! My Option Only Ladies & Gentlemen Of The Jury[ Rx Members ].This is why I choose to wait until at least after the 1st week of the NFL season before making my bet with predictions.

I disagree, week 1 lines are all off last year. Everyone thinks the BEARS, 49ERS, JAX, EAGLES,BROWNS, are bad teams, they might be but week one they should cover. Week 2 is the worst week to bet. You are going off false results. Bet last years bad team week 1.

I do think you can catch some market inefficiencies. During week 1 people often base the bets off last season. On week 2 they bet based on week 1.

Agreed I played golf with a couple of very square bettors yesterday and they said they always do crappy the first two weeks of the season.....

I think three of these four cover or win this week.

But if you've bought into the jags and bet them to open a season the past few year; they've left you broke. I can speak for the Jags in particular. Every year they're "ready" and every year opening week, they're the same old Jaguars and don't cover, usually getting their butts blown off.
